Hi Guys, I don't wander in here very often but have been handed an elderly Victorinox knife the owner would like identified. I will post pictures once I have it in hand. At present I would just like to lead with the inscription from the main blade it says, in two lines MENG
DAVOS-PLATZ

A quick Google suggests this is or was some sort of knife or blade shop in the village of DAVOS, can anyone confirm for me?
Pics and more information coming.

Thanks Phil

yes that is a typical etching on the blade. davos city is relative small, i was a couple times there but it is/was fancy for the rich people. it has quite some stores there, also some expensive ones and typical suvenier shops as well. platz means the center of the city where they had markets and all. sure enough meng is still in buiseness there: http://www.meng-davos.ch/ and they are in 4. generation now, over 112 years. http://www.mengschliff.com/presse gives some insight how they are now, its mainly resharpening of knives and tools and also iceskate, a typical combination for switzerland.
