If Busses are so great......????

Busses are great knives but they are factory produced to a set standard. This standard design/finish doesn't always suit everyone so there is always some room for improvement. This 'improvement' is always personal. Some people want a razor sharp edge, fatter slabs, convex grinds, a sharpened swedge or different handle material. So they get a standard Busse and tweak it to their taste. Same as when you buy a high end suit, you take the one that closest matches what you want then have the tailor adjust it until it fits you perfectly. That's all the guys modding Busses are doing.

You wouldn't say a Ferrari is a crap car because some people choose to put different tires on them or put different spoilers on? Factory standard is just that standard. I myself am not standard at 6'4" and 220lbs so nearly everything I buy has to be altered in some way for me. I buy the best I can then mod it slightly to work best for me. Hence the reason I buy Busses and put convex edges on them.

It's funny how people keeping responding to the OP long after he's been banned. :p

This dude must have gotten his panties bunched way up high if he's still returning to troll.

Poor thing. His feewings wuz hurted.

I also am new to the forum and find the responses informative. I recently purchased my first Busse-Anniversery Steel Heart. I also have wondered why Busse's are so expensive as I am otherwise not a knife buff. Then again if I'm in a survival mode while on my wilderness treks, there is no doubt that this knife--all things considered--will save my life. In an age of mediocrity it is a welcome site to see genuine love for a commercial entity that treats it's customers as family.

Hey sir! Welcome to the Busse family! The ASH-1, as said above, is one hell of a knife. My favorite of all my Busses at this point.

Welcome to the trough! Great choice for a first Busse - it probably won't be your last though.
