Purely for fun, If you woke up tomorrow in Mr Chris Reeves shoes, what knife not currently in production would you make?

Try to be more creative than "bring back the Regular" haha

What I would do:
The Umnumzaan was a test bed for alot of new CRK technology. Now that the 25 is taking on many of those features I would change up the Umnumzaan. I would increase the size by ~1/2 inch, I would add bearings, a flipper and a carbon fiber scale. Oh yea a CF XL Umnum flipper ... that's what dreams are made of!

Hmm:confused:

I'd immediately bring back the Regular! :welcoming:

Couldn't resist:D

I'd put a Sebenza 25 Insigno with Damascus and Mammoth ivory into production and make that the first new version of the annual. Limited production, maybe a different kind of shape for the inlays to set it even more apart from the old(even though I love the annuals and good grief I wish I had gotten one). Oh the money that would be made!

Even if pigs flew that would never happen but a boy can dream can't he?;)

The Sebenza would be offered in a tactical version. Darkened blade, thicker steel, at least 3/16 of an inch. Keep the bushing system of the 21, lock up grades of the 25, textured pattern on the handle for ultimate in non slip. Make the blade a full four inches. Provide the knife with two blades, so if you hurt one, you can switch it out in the field. Maybe a slot cut in the handle to hold the allen key.

And maybe a sheath for attaching to your molle gear.

And I would give away one knife a year to the best customer of the year!

That sound's so nice, Can I change mine?... screw it I'll take both!

I was on the list for my first annual too when they cancelled them:mad:

Id get to work and start making some handmade Custom Sebenzas and fixed blades. Always love seeing some or Mr. Reeves early custom work.

I know that CRKs are supposed to be the "gentleman's" knife... but since you say, change :p

Definitely a beefier blade

For inserts (if ever) use rare woods ie. endangered trees like African Blackwood; Clanwilliam Cedar; African Baobab
Better yet, use Ivory Tusks

S35Vs or the like for the blades still - heck it has worked so far.

I don't know if it's possible, but since it's some fantasy, incorporate a fast deployment feature ie. wave?

Breach 4", at least 4.25"
Blade Finish - Stonewash; Satin Finish and throw in a ala Microtech Tri-tone finish
Handle - Titanium still, what else
Frame lock
Use GOLD (not just plated) thumb lugs

add glass breakers, since it's tactical.

number it to 200 so it won't be so damn pricey.

Price it around U$700 to 1000 up for Ivory inserts and I'd still buy em :D

Do we still need his signature on the blade???

Small 25, 2mm blade stock, cpm m4

For something a little more out there, a Leatherman-like multitool

I would offer the Insingo and Tanto with Damascus blades and decorated, CF and inlayed handles.

id love some.more OPK's or other fixed blades. Try out some different steels as well for the sebs/umnum

Make a smaller Sebenza (basically bring back the Umfaan).

Have an option for more exotic blade steels.

Have an option for a plain scale (no Idaho Made) etc.

Have an option to buy a knife without a pocket clip.

Have an option to buy a Sebenza without the additional locating hole.

Have an option to buy a replacement blade.

Have an option to get a knife with a swapped blade serviced.

Have online credit card facilities.

S90V Insingo blade and the new 25 blade
Damascus Insingo
Carbon Fiber Inlays
Inlayed Insingo's

Fix the IM stamp.
BRING BACK THE REGULAR!!!
Incorporate the bushing system back into the 25.
Make a Sebenza with a hole opener.
Give my employees a nice raise.

I'd like to see CRK offer knives in different steels, a la Spyderco. There are so many good steel choices out there it seems a shame to stick to just one.

Small or mid size Umnumzaan......never mind both sizes and a flipper option would be nice but not necessary.

First thing I would do is, get rid of the blade steel and go with something that holds an edge for a long time, like 3V
XL Mnandi with optional CF inlay to plain Ti.
Bring back the Regular
Get rid of the 21 style inlays and go to the Regualar style inlays.
Beef up the Umnumzaan
Make a complete kitchen knife set with Old Yankee knife blaock( I think that's the maker of the cutting boards that sells next to CRK at Blade)
Damascus Insingo
