I wanted to do something for those injured in Iraq and Afghanistan so I designed a knife and planed to sell it and donate part of the cost to the WWP, ran into BF members who thought not, as WWP is anti GUN, time is short so I planned to used them until I could find another WOW now WWP shows themselves as anti-religion, they also pay the execs way too much. Now in reall need of group who does good without being greedy.

Can some of our recent Vets help me out here. What groups are out there that would take donations from a Christian knife person and not pay it all lto their leaders?

The Wounded Warrior Project in my opinion is not a good charity to donate to. According to Charity Navigator they raised $74 million in 2011 and expenses were $58 million.

In addition, for what its worth, they refused contributions from a Florida Church with the explanation that they cannot accept donations from companies or organizations "in which the product or message is religious in nature.” http://www.theblaze.com/stories/201...to-take-churchs-religious-in-nature-donation/

Personally they sound too freaky to me to bother with.

Here's some veteran charities with good records: Fischer House Veterans Charity and Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund Veterans Charity.

I hadn't heard these things about WW. Do you have any sources I could look at?

Google and get past the hype on page one and you find lots of sources. It is not that they do not do good it is that they do too well for themselves. Alec Baldwin being involved was another let down.

Bill O'Reilly from FoxNews fame donates all of is profits from his sales to WWP. Bill is an awfully good Catholic. He's visited the new hospital wing of Walter Reed Hospital, and I think his donations exceed one million dollars.
O'Reilly might be against civilian ownership of assault weapons...Unsure.

I like O'Reilly but he does not understand the 2nd Amendment. He thinks that it has to do with self defense, it is all about the defense of freedom and the Constitution. It is not meant for us to defeat the thief in our house but the thieves in the halls of power. The folks need the same level of arms as the soldiers and police. I personally am opposed to private ownership of flame throwers, morters, and recoil less weapons. ;)

Mr Russell,
I'm a fan of Special Operations Warrior Foundation and think they are a good organization doing needed work.
Please give them a look.
My Best,
Dozier

I can't remember what the name of the foundation. Correct me if I'm working didn't the recently late Chris Kyle have a foundation for soliders who suffer from post traumatic stress?
Ps thank you AG for doing this, can't wait to see this knife and possibly own it

semperfi fund you can google it im pretty sure they even have their financials on the website check it out

This thread has nothing to do with knives so the General forum isn't the right place for it. I'm going to move it to Community but I don't want to see any comments that smell political. Stick to the topic and remember ALL political commentary belongs in the Political Arena forum.
