If not wounded warrior project, then WHO

As a 30 yr veteran, who just completed his 3rd combat tour little more than a year a go, I get a little pissed at the way some of these public charities have used soldiers for profit.

Let me suggest the USO as a place to park some funds. The young soldiers it helps are just as deserving as the rest of us.

And if you want to donate to an outdoors oriented program I'll suggest Outward Bound; they've been offering fully funded adventures for vets for a number of years now.

You may want to look into the Yellow Ribbon Fund. I know a few of the people who've been involved since the beginning. I don't have a lot of the details on hand but I know it's a good group.

I can't remember what the name of the foundation. Correct me if I'm working didn't the recently late Chris Kyle have a foundation for soliders who suffer from post traumatic stress?
Ps thank you AG for doing this, can't wait to see this knife and possibly own it

I now have the knives on hand and think that the families of Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield should receive the donations from them. While not designed quite right for the purpose, representing the first battle flag of the US Marines and not Naval at all. It will just have to do.
Please watch the whats new forum here on BF where I will post a pic and a link in a day or two. . . . I am planning to sell these entirely through the net, mainly social media, and emails, that is the only way I can donate more than 50% of the price . . .A. G.

A.G. here is a thought..........Why don't you start your own small organisation to help the Vets and their families within the knife making/collecting community. There must be many.

You are so highly respected and there is no-one in the knife industry with your experience and contacts. If you did it you would receive support from almost the whole industry. (I think if you launched it at Blade you would have instant support)

A Veteran/knife related charity run personally and properly with everyone volunteering/donating their time and resources would do more to directly help those in need. It would be like looking after your own extended family.

I think that if you started asking around within the extended knife community you would find many Veteran families that could use help. By doing it yourself you bypass the whole bureaucracy and get the help directly to those who need it.
