If only I knew back in the '70s when I just was an accumulator when something caught my eye. Had one of our hardware stores in Greensburg, In sold Tree Brand and also I believe Belknap. I know I purchased a few knives (not SS) that would end up rusted on me and eventually thrown away. If only I wasn't so stupid not to clean them up and keep them oiled. Also, until I got into these Forums I never knew what patina was. How stupid could a person have been??? Anyone else have been so "Young and Dumb" with their knives in their younger days????

This. Seriously. Don't care about things or people that don't care about you.

People with hobbies should listen to this.

Yep, only two knives were given to me as a younger person (10-12), one from my dad, one from my grandfather. I beat them both into oblivion, threw them, dug with them, cut worms for bait on a sidewalk, you name it...
Needless to say, I wish I knew what I do now... Though they are still both around (Thankfully), I will never be able to get the "first knife" from either of them.

My G-pa uses a peanut regularly that I may get one day, but I am not looking forward to that day either...
