I know this forum is a wealth of great information and all that, and I was wondering about asking the group if anyone knows how certain blades got their names, (for instance the BK-5 'Magnum' or BK-14 'Eskabar'). And then it occurred to me to wonder what if each of us could ask Ethan Becker just one question. What would it be?

Let me state I that if this thread takes off, I don't expect Ethan to have to come on here and answer any of them, but thought the exercise might be fun, some folks might be able to answer some of the questions themselves, and perhaps most importantly I now only need to start two more threads to qualify for Beckerhead status. ;)

Just call him and ask him. He's a regular joe who's done a lot in life, but is super tickled pink we are such retards for his work.
 
I would like to ask why rumor has it why the Brute will never be re-released,,,I regret losing mine years ago and am trying hard to get another, but would love it if they were released once again!!
 
The brute will be re-released, but it is not on the schedule anytime soon. I hear a year or two (or three).

My question is pretty simple.

Can we see the progression of the prototypes for different blades (for instance, the tweeners), with the reasoning behind each successive change mentioned?

I've seen a few different Becker Tweener protos, and they were all different, but we never hear why some were scrapped and some were improved. If Ethan comes along and reads this, I would LOVE to have this one answered :).

Moose could probably answer that one. However, he has expressed a great appreciation for Leinenkugel in the not so distant past.
