If you could bring back one cutlery company

There are no GEC knives in Charlie's waynorth waynorth Empire Knife Co. display. Nobody sends a private plane across country for a GEC knife.

Hopefully, Charlie will chime in here with a description of that display.

Well, not yet anyway lol.
I meant that the one on display reminds me of the GEC #97.

All of these knives are Vintage Empires, many from the 1800s!
The company also made Razors, and Scissors, all Made by Empire in the display!! Empire also made many knives for other companies, including Shapleigh!
My favorite Shield is the one I call the "double bump" shield!
My favorite knife of theirs is this Washington Bolstered Harness Jack!!Double Bump shields 1.jpg Double Bump shields 2.jpg Emp Wash HJ 1.jpg Emp Wash HJ 2.jpg Emp Wash HJ 3.jpg
These are all knives I have collected after I sold the Display!! Old Habits die Hard!!

I'd have to agree with bringing Empire back. They had some great ones. And I've always loved looking at photos of that display. I live in the northeast corner of CT, I've always wanted to plan a weekend trip to the Winsted area to see if I can find any mingling in antique stores. Here's a photo of my "double bump" swell center. Snappy knife.

I particularly like this picture of your knife Augie Augie . Your knife is very nice but it's the acorn hull just below the knife that got my attention. When I was a kid, we used to hold those hulls between our fingers under our thumbs and blow into them. They made excellent whistles. Although not intended by you, thanks for the reminder.

Thank you Ed.

Nice Empire!! I have a friend in Winsted who has found several of those Empires for me!!:)

I am going to cheat and wish for one US and one Sheffield knife maker! New York Knife Co for the first, and Joseph Rodgers for the second. Since I got to bring back two companies, I will forgo the bonus knife and stay by my email for the notice of each new drop:)

Another vote for the original Maher and Grosh. I love the GEC pattern versions but the originals are just so cool.

Wade and Butcher, not so much for their knives, but for outstanding straight razors.
