I've been itching for a 5.5 inch bladed serrated Black Talon with the mid rough G10 handles and the blade blacked out... /drool

but I'd also be in for a 5.5 inch bladed version of the Collosus...... pocket Smatchet anyone?

I choose 5.5 inch over 6 due to laws in my state, 5.5 inch is max, I cant carry the 6 inchers, though I still collect them and have one of each

If you were to design CS's NEXT large size folder.... what exactly would you be in for? anything goes, what would you drop money on?

Not oversized, just larger:
A large Tuff Lite, with the hole removed and replaced with a thumb plate so the blade can be narrowed (otherwise, the knife would be too wide), a 3-3.5" blade, and a handle long enough to be held in a four-finger grip without choking up on the choil.

A 5.5 inch black talon would be crazy. I´m actually surprised they havent already made one. Seems like a winner.

I would love to see a 5.5 inch broken skull. The same slim design but longer.

finn wolf folder at good lower price point at 4" or 4.5" or the pro-lite at 4 or 4.5" still at a good low price point. i'd be all over those.

The Collosus should've been a 5.5 incher in the 1st place.

I agree, I held off buying one till I got one in hand at a local shop..... it didn't feel all that colossal to me =o( nice, but not colossal by any stretch of the imagination....

Im more looking forward to a more EDC friendly 3.5 inch Talon. IMO the best SD folder is the one you have on you when you need it.

I like your suggestions. I'd also like to see CS finally bring out a 5.5" spearpoint folder as part of their Recon line. This is not being terribly imaginative, but I'd also like to see a fully serrated version of the Rajah II. However I'm beginning to wonder if CS is ever going to bring out any new XL folders ...

I also agree with Hermit Dave that the Colossus should have been 5.5 " in the first place. The current one is fat not colossal.

That is a FANTASTIC IDEA!
The New Black Talon is a Grand Slam in my book for a SD Knife, Super Slim & Light. Love the G10. Would love to see it with a 5.5 inch blade in Satin. That would be on my books as a MUST have for me. Specially after having owned and currently owning 3 Black Talons. Have ended up giving them away...... :(

Something similar to a tanto xl voyager with a THUMB PLATE, G-10 scales and slim like the old style voyagers but with the triad of course.

I have the black talon 2 and have used it quite a bit in practice cutting. IMO a hawkbill blade like this hooks onto the target and push cuts through it instead of drawing or slicing. So you need a very sharp blade and lots of leverage which you get with a short blade. A longer blade would not be very effective and can get caught and ripped out of your hand if the target is too resistant to the cut.

+1 this is exactly why most karambit and hawksbill are designed to be small. Same theory as the box cutter, try one with 5inch blade and 6 inch handle

Heck . . . may as well go all the way.
You know what a mellon knife looks like . . . right.
And you know how Cold Steel is all into swords about three feet long . . . right . .

I say why not combine two good things to make one epic EDC ! ! !
Super long, super skinny . . . doubles as a walking stick when folded . . .
What's not to like ? ? ? ?
There wouldn't be the usual displeasure with the pocket clip because . . . there wouldn't be one !
Done with your knife for the day ? Just stand it in the corner or put it in the brolly stand.

Return of the X-2 Voyager It was done right the 1st time . You can change the lock maybe But want it slim and lite weight . VG-1 Japan will still work for me. The current Voyager line sucks . Thick as a brick shorter blade and feels terrible in hand. I gave my new XL away and haven bought a new C S folder since. Bought couple of fix blades but no folders. .

I carry my X2 daily clipped in front my pocket and a Eland in other pocket for general cutting .
