If you could find “the one” production blade on the Busse, SYKCO, Swamp Rat Exchange….

The whole process of buying a busse seems slightly mythical to me.

From what I can tell, they do runs and pre-orders but don't really stock the classics. I get a little confused with the off shoots of busse (sykco, swamp rat etc).

Seems like a good way to keep resale value up (after market prices are crazy).

I miss the Company Store. I scored two of my favorite blades there. Skinny ASH1 and a FFFBM with swedge.
I regretted selling my last Skinny ASH1 for years until the Alpha Dog 6 came out. Now I’m good. 👍

Here’s Currawong’s comparison pic (both fantastic knives):

(The ASH1 pictured may or may not be a Skinny, but in profile they look the same.)

It can and do be that way sometimes, its your call and how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go. If you want any type of Busse blade, its all more or less available. Now, if you want some classics or limited editions or special runs, those are trickier like any collectible, especially with a long rich history like Busse.

But the selection, quality and availability is better today than ever. I know that people have been clamoring for Moabs and folders for at least as long as Ive been around, and those have come through, as well as a plethora of new models and several new steels.

It's an interesting sales model. Many knives here come from "grab bags", where you buy blind and are hopefully positively surprised by what you get. Never heard of any other company doing that, it's kind of cool, IMO. Feeds the Exchange here, too.

I bought most of my Busse/Sykco/SwampRat on the Exchange and recommend to do the same, unless you are excited about a new release coming up ....

Anything specific you are looking for ? PM me, if you like.

Off Duty.
Always room for more...
Practically useless for carry compared to many other Busse models, but I have a real soft spot for these fat railroad spikes lol 😅

OMG That middle one is THE one. I have a black crinkle coated Off Duty. Those satin specimens are the chef's kiss to Busse's "sharpened railroad spike."

My white whale is a Custom Shop satin finished Swamp Rat M9 (with DHT). Had blue and black hand shaped G10 scales. I purchased it back in early 2011. Ive never seen another one for sale or even so much as a picture of one posted ever since.
