If you could have a complete line of knives...

My head says SOG (even though I carry a Spyderco). That would get you folders in a ranger of sizes, fixed blades in a range of sizes and multi-tools in a range of sizes. All bases covered.

My heart says Himalayan Imports. There's just something stirring about 'em.

Frank

Tony Bose or Queen, mostly because I really like folders and these two exhibit all the qualities I admire in custom and production knives.

Joe Kious. His blades just look sweet. CRK also gets my vote, his blades run the gamut for all intents and purposes.

Matador-

John W. Smith.

I would not mind collecting CRK, Tom Mayo, or Strider, but their lines have less variety. Smith does some of the best tactical folders in the world, period, and is known for his art knives. If his tacticals are some of the best in the world, and he is known for his art knives, what does that say about his art knives!?!?!?! He offers a top-tier knife for every occasion.

Darrel Ralph would probably be my second choice. He has a lot of variety as well. He offers balisongs that Smith does not, but Smith does the dress knife thing better.

I think this is not the same as "who is your favorite maker/brand?" because Smith is not my favorite knife maker, but I would rather own all of his knives/models than, say, Tom Mayo, because I feel he offers more variety than Mayo does. As a matter of preference, I think I prefer Mayo's designs a little more.

hmmm... have the entire line for personal use & carry (no resale for profit)...

Jim Hammond. excellent fixed and folding models from utilitarian to fancy- yet all with plenty of quality & capability. these would handle anything i'd ever ask of a knife

if it were just folders- JW Smith
if it were just fixed blades- Shiva Ki
