I've been thinking about this for the past couple days. If you could design your own knives what would they be. pics if you want but I'm looking for something along the lines of
Blade : knife 1
Handle : knife 2
Lock : knife 3
etc. feel free to add whatever materials you'd use, size specs, and so on
PLEASE NONE OF THAT MY KNIVES ARE PERFECT CRAP

Here's a few i thought of today. I'm sure I'll add more later.

Knife One
This one's pretty simple.
A benchmade Dejavoo with FRN handles, a blade detent to keep it closed. left side pocket clip and the even remote ability to use it left handed.

Knife two
Blade shape Spyderco warrior in a folding knife
Handle Similar to a Spyderco centofante
Lockback

this is all i really have for now. I had better ones but....forgot really

I would REALLY love to be able to make a Ti handled folding knife.

3 inch long blade with approx. the same blade shape/design as Tom Krein's Bulldog model, but shrunk and narrowed a bit to fit as a folder. Beefy Ti handles, framelock design with a Hinderer lockbar stabilizer. Smooth handles rounded off on the edges.
Flame worked Ti.

I could use something like that right now.

I'm not too hard to please. I would just want my ZT 0301, but with CPM-3V or CPM-M4 blade steel instead. Tungsten DLC coating just seems a little overkill for a stainless blade.

I'd take a ZDP, micarta Para with a back lock. (I'd say Axis, but that seems hard to make.)

I would get the ZDP blade made elsewhere :)

I know nothing of knife-making, but if I could, I'd make a fixed knife for the first try. Early morning fantasy:

First I would take appropriate molds of my hand and fingers, and incorporate those dimensions into the handle so it fit absolutely perfectly. There are a million options for the handle material(s) but I'd go with a dinosaur horn stolen by a crackerjack team of world-class thieves from the Smithsonian.

Blade length would be roughly 5-7"; probably just a "normal" style variation for the first go-around. Blade would be made from reinforced, self-healing synthetic diamond. (Material filled with thousands of tiny spheres filled with a viscous substance. When the spheres crack, the substance leaks out and hardens.) I don't know grinds, but whatever grind lends the blade the most strength would be favored. I'd send the knife off to NASA for sharpening to get it to the point it could sever molecular bonds and possibly atomic bonds.
Then I'd gear up to go slay some mythical creatures.

(I'll try to give a more serious answer later. Woke up at 4.)

I'd like a knife along the lines of the original manix with a tri-ad lock and CPM M4 steel blade with a high hollow grind.

A spyderco chowke with a 3 inch blade so it'd be legal for me to carry in DE

A spyderco balance that was a larger knife. again like a 3 inch blade or maybe a little under.

An FRN spyderco pheonix

Cold steel black rock hunter with a tanto blade

If I can make my own knife - I will make a VG10 delica with an g10 handle, axis-lock, flipper, with the blade length of 3.5, saber grind and with a blade thickness of 4.5 mm.

Here're my knives, if I could make them myself:

Fixed Blade:
5.5" VG-10 bead blasted blade shaped narrow, like a fillet knife but maybe not so narrow and thicker for strength, say like 3/16". Full tang protruding to a point slightly out the back for lanyard hole and glass breaker. Orange and black micarta scales with slight checkering like a pistol grip.

Folder:
4.0" S30V or similar bead blasted blade in a spear point with false top edge. Thumb studs, strong lock back, stainless full sized liners, orange G-10 scales, a bit chunky and rounded for bigger hands with pistol grip checkering. Open back design and lanyard hole. My BM 710-01 is close.

If I could make my own I would make them like this.

Large fixed knives and small non stainless fixed, cpm3v and birch or g10 handles.

Folders non stainless, cpm3v and g10. Ti liners/locks.

Folders stainless and small fixed stainless, AEB-L or 12c27 full hard and cryo´d with g10 handles and Ti liners/locks

Elephant toe-nails, HSS full hard and the rest heat anodized Ti.

Something that is solid titanium kinda like the Missions or stuff that Warren Thomas makes.

I have a design I did in Solidworks CAD some time ago.

Steel? CPM154, but if I could get absolutely anything I wanted...never mind, too many choices.

And canvas micarta handles with brass pins.

Oh, how about something along the lines of a Benchmade Bone Collector, but with more finger choil and without all the silly graphics on the blade.

I already designed and had a knifemaker make my first 2 fixed blades...

Talked this 2-bladed folder over with a knifemaker and figured I'd
go with his design with some of my input...

Blade Length: 3 - 3 ½”… OK

Overall Length: 7 - 7 ½”… OK

Blade Types: Clip Point & Wharncliffe… OK

Blade Composition: satin finished CPM-154... OK

Bolster Composition: satin finished 416 stainless… OK

Handle Material: Jigged Bone… OK

Opening Mechanisms: Thumbstuds… OK

Locking Mechanisms: Linerlocks... OK

Titanium Liners: (with filework)… OK

Stainless Backspacers: (with filework)… OK
