If you could only have 1, what would you choose?

"well, if THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE, I'd choose the highlander sword "

heheheh !
excellent ! :D

Tough question as my Wave 2003 is more practical. But my vote goes to the BM 520, followed by the 806 D2.

Allas i carry a customised 520 and that made it much more expensive than demanded. But that´s what i would carry with me if i only has to be a folder.

Fixed:

Swamp rat HR or Bandicoot or my custom avatar which was near in the price range.

buy a BM 550 griptilian, and with the remaining 140 usd, a good cellular phone with international call allowance ! (or at least a good lighter, fishing net, etc!) ;)

One of the SAKs with a wood saw. If multitools are permissible then I'd take the Victorinox one or a Leatherman.

A Gerber Camp Axe. You really can't chop wood with a blade very effectively and you need the wood for a fire. The axe is very handy for cleaning game also. It is big and tough. Your knife vrs my axe and you lose big-time! (IMHO)

what is do good about a Benchmade Doug Ritter RSK Mk1

I mean wouldent something like a Para Military be better for the price. I mean yes it is a very nice knife but it had nylon or plastic handles. Compared to G-10

depends what you wanna do with it. Noryl GTX will not let you down in a survival situation. G-10 would be nice, but either the price goes up, or you give up the *really* important stuff like a S30V blade on a AXIS.

you know of another knife with AXIS+S30v for 100 bucks?

If a fixed blade were allowed, I'd go with a BK-9. Wonderful slicing ability, tough as nails, and a great chopper. If I had to choose just one knife to have with me in a survival scenario, this would be the one.

... of course, I'd probably cheat and put a nice folder in the side pouch on the sheath ...

One knife to be used as a survival knife...preferably a folder? Well, I would think that I would want a large stockman or maybe a wenger with lots of different gadgets.

If it were to be a combat type knife, I would want a decent size benchmade with the little rolling block lock (what ever it is called). I carry a 941 edc.
