If you could only have one.

Your question is actually multi-faceted. My favorite is the BK-5 but if I could have only one it would be the BK-7.

if you guys would prefer you can say your favorite, and then which one you would choose if you could only have one.

BK4 for sure in terms of usability. If the criterion is indestructability (ie, a survival situation where I had to make sure the knife would never be destroyed), I''d be tempted to go BK2. For a smaller knife, BK16.

My fave is a toss up between my 16 and 9, tough to choose which one though...
If I had a hatchet/axe/hawk, it'd probably be the 16... If not, then the 9 fo sheezy.

Well, I've picked the one I want to buy based on profile, size, and price, and that's the 15. Upswept point has a lot going for it. Not unimportant, though, it has to be a knife I can put on my belt or in a satchel for easy carry and not frighten the hoi polloi. My huge go-to chopper is a Dawson 58 Sheffield Bowie and I just can't bring myself to carry it into the Big R or pump gas with it on me. In the right sheath, when I get it, the BK-15 will do the job on the farm, in the field, and on the trail.

Why a BK-15 when my Mora, Buck 110 or 112, Opinel, or Roselli puukko will do the job? Well, besides being a fixed blade, it's a Becker, right?!. :D

From what I've read here, though, once the virus has infected my system, I'll be looking at more Beckers and will change my tune. Looking forward to it.

Obviously the environment dictates the tool, so I have my favorites for different situations. I find myself using the 10 and the 16 the most. I guess if I had to pick one for anything and everything ahead of time not knowing what I was walking into I'd say my 77 . There's tons of variables so it's hard to say.

What is it with all the Highlander threads recently?

I'm tired; so the only response I have is borrowed from a classic: I fart in your general direction
How about I just don't buy any more? It might be rough; but I could probably be satisfied with the Beckers I already have.

From what I have no, the 9. Not only is it good looking, but I think that it is the most versatile Becker.

I haven't tried the 4, so if I had, maybe my opinion would change.

And the 21 is made of unobtainium still... but if i could get my hands on a parkerized bk21 with micarte handles... well... it is very possible that THAT would be the one, and permanent Bk21.

But then there is also the Bk18 which I know nothing about... decisions decisions.

i'd take it a step further...IF YOU COULD ONLY HAVE 1 KNIFE - from among ALL the knives you own - WHICH would it be, and WHY??? for me, it's easy. i own HUNDREDS of knives. the impossible-to-part-with one is "the trebuchet" - one of only two in existence - made by magnus axelson
search
...it's art as much as knife (scalpel), and scalpel as much as art - a scalpel in a 360% rotating stand...unbelievable...regards, jzs

Just to clarify the rules - if I say BK2, does that mean I can have a Blackjack BK2, Camillus BK2, stamped/smooth coat/unskeletonized KaBar BK2, and lasered/new coat, skeletonized KaBar BK2? Or, looking at it a different way, if I say BK16, can I have - say - 5 of the current versions?

If only one the BK9 would be it with a BK16 biting at it's heels !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would choose a bk7 as my only one, to me it is smack in between the bk9 and bk2.
If I'm walking/scouting I carry the bk9, if I'm hunting I have the bk2 but the bk7 could suffice for either one.

Would have to go with the 7 also again not my favorite but for a "there can be only 1" scenerio it would be the best choice

The 16 is my favorite, but if I had to choose only one I would feel better having the BK2.
