If you could only have one...

I would tape all my knives together to form one super, mega knife, the cut them apart again when I was allowed to have more than one.

You could get one of these.

E40 E40 , it doesn't matter to me if similar themes have been touched on before in other threads. I figure it's a knife forum; we're here to enjoy discussing knives. Those Randalls are beauties, and they're a knife I've always admired. They have a case of Randalls at the Spyderco factory store, and I was able to see some up close when I visited in November. It made me appreciate them that much more.
For sentimental reasons, I'd be stuck hanging on to one of these two. I'm just glad it hasn't come to that yet.

I'd say maybe my small sebenza. Problem is I don't take it backpacking etc, cause I'm scared I'd lose it. So if it was my only one I guess I'd dummy cord it to me at all times. If I lost my one knife could I replace it? If so, I'd end up losing a lot so I could replace it with something new....

Hi

I would probably keep my zt 0566 or Kershaw knockout or my sak cybertool

Cheers
Matt
I dont have the 0566 yet.i kust got a knockout . As of right now i think the knockout is enough of a do all knife that i could use it only.the thought brings a tear to my eye though lol

If I had to choose just one, I'd rather get rid of every knife that I have and start a new hobby.

One? Probably could live with a Vic SAK of some sort. The fact is I don't have to live with one knife and if I owned only one knife, I doubt I would have much to say here on BF.

I designed a fixed blade and a local shop brought it to life. It was completed the same week my daughter was born. She calls it "her knife". Nothing in my collection can top that.
Damascus blade with ram's horn handle scales.

Probably my Recon 1. Strong enough for pretty much any task, comfortable in-hand and very light for its size, and inexpensive enough that I can use it for anything without hesitation. Also, it’s a clip point, which I really like.

I’ve had mine for a little over a year, used it quite a bit, and the only part that shows appreciable wear is the clip because Cold Steel uses what seems to amount to cheap black fingernail polish to paint their clips.

I was thinking about this last night and came up with three answers.

1) Given current society it would have to be a folder because I use it at work. In that case it would be an m4 Military. This will do everything up to abusive stuff like splitting kindling. Great in the kitchen too.

2) If this were different times or some fantasy scenario where I could carry whatever I want and not get flak for it, I’d say scrapyard 711 in sr101. It’s the only knife I own that can truly do it all.

3) 2 is really the bare minimum for me. It would be delica in hap40/pakkawood and that 711. Super slicer for cardboard and quick cuts and then the 711 for everything else.

For the longest time I've thought it would be a Crooked River, especially if I could persuade Benchmade to let me modify one, and buy it.

But lately I've been thinking that my one and only knife probably would be something like the Mora Companion, but with a little better materials.
I don't own anything that fits, except for my Brusletto Bamsen, but it's not quite the same.

YOU CAN'T DO THAT!

Pick one all ready.

Assuming we are not talking some fantasy apocalypse scenario, my pick would be my Fiddleback Kephart, if I had to stick one knife for every day sensible use.
