If you could only own one OF EACH Carothers and Busse?

I am putting in some extra hours in a side job and have a little extra play money. I do not own any CPK or Busse's and want to remedy this situation. I am not asking which is better and just want to hear from the CPK and Busse fans about their favorites. If you could own only one of each either brand, what model would you get? Post pics!

I do not really have any gaps in my knife choices and that is partly why I am asking. Price range is not too much more than $500ish...

People who love them are going to be happy with Either.... Neither one is better or worse than the other.

Both have positive founders, & strong fans.
Good people.

Buy the styles you like, you can't go wrong Either way

There is a wide range of models, what kind of knife are you looking for? Chopper? EDC? Self defense?

I personally would recommend the Carothers DEK1. If you want something larger, then the UF2.

I am in the Carothers Camp.

I've never held a Busse, but the looks of their handles scream "Blister City" to me.

My UF2 is the nicest knife I've ever owned. I'd buy a CPK without hesitation.

I also own quite a few Busse Kin. For day to day use and smaller knives, CPK is hard to beat with the UF[2] being my favorite:

Uniquely ergonomic, general purpose, outstanding materials and F&F.

For 8+ inches blade length, Busse just has more choices than CPK, made some of my all time favorite large knives, and they are much more affordable on the used market.

Where else can you find a 10” hollow ground, well made and super reliable knife in S7 for around $300 ?

None of the Busse Kin above have CPK equivalents. In my “collection”, the two brands are complementary.

Carothers Light chopper - One of my most used blades.

Busse, kinda - SYKCO Alpha Dog 6 - Great size, weight, ergonomics, and can chop way above it weight class.

I own 4 CPKs: a UF1, BFK, DEK & EDC.

If I owned only 1, it would be the EDC because it is the most practical & useful for my purposes.

I do not really "need" anything. I have large and small blades, but do not own CPK or Busse. Both makes have been beckoning for years and I am now in a position to pounce.

Nailed it. I like light and fast with good cutting geometry, so I would choose Carothers.

Have both.

If you want big, brutish and big….busse.

If you want more refined, lighter and more technical….carothers.

It’s not that one is better, it’s a question of what do you want?
