If you don't see me here this is the reason.

I'm not the praying type, but add my good thoughts to the pile. And I gotta say that your outlook on the whole thing put a smile on my face, regardless of the situation. You're something else, Uncle. :)

A salute and a brew raised for you here in Teas, Uncle!! Take a big khuk to the docs and they won't dare touch you!

Smoke going up - your Buddhist knowledge does serve you well, so there doesn't seem much more to say. Let me know if I can do anything for you or Yangdu.

best,

Best wishes and prayers from me Uncle Bill. I'm glad to hear that you are at peace no matter what happens--I admire you for that.

Your response was thoughtful and uplifting. Thanks :) and good luck, however it turns out. I'll pray for you.<br>

Know what I'm doing right now? Drinking a Heineken and smoking a Camel. And I may go to the Peppermill a little later and play some nickle video poker and drink and smoke until midnight.
"This is the day which the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it." - Psalm 118.
Peace, Uncle Bill

That's the way I've lived my life and that's the way I'll live it to the end. For all you old sailors it's "Damn the torpedos! Full speed ahead!"

Whenever this man is going to go, he is going with his personal style intact, and who can avoid admiring that?

Best wishes. I am confident you will be back here with us soon. Those doctors are half gods you know.

Bill,

If they operate on you, make sure they get your ribs lined up in the right order or your shirt will never button properly again...

Prayers and courage to you. I'll put a cold one back for when I see your return post.

Bill Martino, a Bhuddist quoting Ecclesiastes!

Eccl 3:1-6
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
(from New International Version)

Bill, I can respect, love and admire you for so many reasons. Some might call it foolish to be smoking and drinking when faced with the situation you find yourself in right now, but I don't.

In the time that I have gotten to know you through the forum and personally on the phone, I have come to know you as a man who truly lives and enjoys life to the fullest.

I hope that you will live much longer but I want you to know that if you check out right now, that you will have left this world a much richer place for having lived the life and been the example you are to all of us who have had the priviledge of knowing you.

And when you do finally check out here whether soon or (I hope) much MUCH later and move on, I am sure that we will see a change in Heaven. The archangels won't be carrying swords anymore, just HI Khukuris!

our attempts to control the elements of our lives, the big things seem to happen far beyond our control. The joy, satisfaction, and achievements of one's life are those parts which we CAN control.

For the rest, prayers, hopes, and perhaps, the spiritual well-wishes of those we have touched must carry us through the perilous times.

Bill, you have the spiritual return on the investment of your life, and the heart-felt hopes of all you have touched.

May you fare well, where ever you fare.

We're all in this together, somehow.

Blessings and prayers to you and Yangdu.
For someone who has lived his life to the fullest, there is little else to say....celebrate and enjoy for all it is worth!
If ever there is anything I can do for either of you, please, just ask.
You will always be in my heart

love

You know that there will be a prayer from every one of the forum. And, Our hearts are with you.
Which ever of the forumites said "We're all in this together" wasn't a bit wrong. Smoke and prayers from Texas. We love you Uncle Bill.;) :)
