If you don't yet have a .22 ...

the bl-22 is one that's on my list. and i love the looks of that marlin m2 carbine. now IT'S on my list! ;)

I will tell you that the m2 is AWESOME, and promag makes a pretty good 25 rd mag for them. On the other had, the mag fed is rare, as opposed to the tube fed one's. Good luck finding one with the barrel guard still in one piece. One of the best 50 dollar bills I ever spent. Lol. Swing by north Carolina and we can go smoke some squirrels with it.

thanks buddy

What about ammo in the semis . My Ruger Mark 22 and Marlin M1 have trouble spitting out some bullets . I tore the Ruger down and gave it a thorough cleaning and it still has problems . Sometimes the casing is stuck half way out .

Some may jam occasionally if you're using standard velocity ammo or it could be a particular manufacturer that gives a particular gun feeding issues.

In a Ruger my first recommendation is to change cartridges. Different manufacturer or if the same manufacturer, a different load.

As an aside, its a "case" vs. a "casing". A cartridge case. Casings are into what sausages are stuffed.

Sounds like the stoppages are failures to eject vs. failures to feed.

I always liked the assortment of .22 rifles available. I owned at least 7. Lever action, autos and bolt action. The semi autos were the most fun but the least reliable. I blame the ammo. I always used a bolt action when hunting. They never failed to chamber a round.

With semi's, always change the ammo and see who they function with those versus any major efforts. Try a different magazine, but that is usually on failures to feed versus failure to eject issues. My High Standard Victor never fed the plain lead ammo well but always functioned well with the copper washed stuff. Been a while since I shot that pistol as I generally grab the Ruger Mark II first now for plinking or one of my other ones.

My Ruger Mark II has never worked from day one . It does various malfunctions . Sometimes the spent shell is loose in the chamber , sometimes half way out , sometimes still in the barrel , sometimes it doesnt load and sometimes the bolt doesnt stay open after the last shot . I have a bad one and its very frustrating to shoot .

Have you contacted Ruger? That's an aberration and I suspect they would be of assistance to you.

I have a stainless one that's works great. I'd probably trade it for the right knife though as it hasn't been shot much. I've had it for years too. I like shooting my 7.62 nato rifles more. :D

Perfect day for a little target practice. Switched ammo to see if it would make any difference w jamming. No difference still jammed a couple times. I have a stapler that doesn't work if I load it right up. So I tried just 5 rounds at a time a few times no jams. Tried 10 rounds at a time no problem. Have to experiment a bit more to be sure

Replace the spring.

I'll test it a few more times. Wonder how difficult it's to pull the spring out. Probably try stretching it first. Remember having to do that with a mag once upon a time

Picked up a 22 charger this weekend. Bought two extra 25rd mags and added a magpul grip today. I would love to make it into a little tac-22 range plinker with a tactical stock. But I read that adding a stock makes it illegal to own without registering it. So that blows and has really changed my plans.

I have a 1970's Glenfield (Marlin) bolt action .22 that somehow shoots 2" groups at 100yds on a bipod with CCI minimags through a $100 scope. Any other ammo and it opens up to 3-4" pretty quick but I wouldn't hesitate to take a rabbit at 50-75yds. I'm always amazed by how well it still shoots 40 years later despite not knowing its history and how it was cared for.

I see these guns pop up for sale locally a couple times a year and they aren't worth much, which makes them even more worth owning. If you see one for $150 I highly recommend!
