To spend on a folding knife (shipping and taxes included) what knife would you buy? I'm looking at the emerson super commander right now, but open to other suggestions as well (new not used). Currently i have:

-Kershaw Blur
-Spyderco Caly 3 CF
-Spyderco Military
-Spyderco Salt I
-Benchmade Griptilian in D2
-Chris Reeve Large Carbon Fiber Sebenza 21

I have a bunch more, but these are the main ones that I use/carry.

I was just in the same spot your in. I wanted a flipper, ikbs bearing system, I was looking at rod Olsen, Curtiss f3, and some others.

Then I settled for crkt ripple framelock SS and CRKT Carajas Flavio Ikoma Plain Edge. These 2 for a bit over $100.:D

Honestly, I'd get a Manix 2 with S110V and an ESEE Laser Strike and save $100.

My personal likes would be a Caly 3.5 in CF, Military Titanium, or what I would choose would be a Chris Reeves Sebenza. There is so much talk and adoration for them that I always knew I would want one. I went with an Umnumzaan though as I liked the look of that the best. So I took the opportunity to go for my top knife now instead of buying all the less expensive ones first. I knew at some point I would get one

For my personal tastes, I'd have to go with either Extrema Ratio or Emerson hands down for $300.

I'd keep an eye on the exchange and grab a military sprint run in a different steel. Can't do much better than that in my opinion. Enjoy the hunt!

I wouldn't get something like a Sebenza, I'd pick up several less expensive knives I wanted. Assuming I was limited to folders, I'd go with say, $105 for a Spyderco CF Sage, $75 for an Endura 4 Wave, $37 for a Kershaw Chive in navy blue, $37 for a Kershaw Cryo Blackwash, $20 for a Kershaw Swerve, and $25 on a Byrd Raven. That comes out to around $300, and would appeal to me much more than a single expensive Emerson or Sebenza.

HTM gunhammer ? 250 on the web in a bunch of places. Great steel, us made, Etc

Or save half of that 300 and get yourself an Al Mar eagle, heavy duty version. Still 4 inches of poke if needed, but in a strong, slim package. I'm ordering the al mar soon
