What would it be and what would it consist of?

"The Eric"

Actually do a menu special like this in the fall but don't call it that:

-San Francisco Style Sourdough, both sides dressed with mayo
-Grilled, Butter-flied, Marinated Turkey Breast with melted slice of premium Jack cheese.
-Homemade Port Wine Cranberry Compote (may throw in a pear and apple depending on how I feel)
-Homemade chestnut stuffing
-Sprouts
-Dash of sunflower seeds, cracked black pepper

Serve bread ungrilled so it can soak but cheese melted and breast warm. Serve with side of homemade Turkey gravy as dipping sauce.

Serve with sweet potato fries -or- regular fries -or- onion rings and sweet coleslaw to counter the tangy cranberries.

Enjoy :D

I need about a thousand first names

And no, this is NOT for menu ideas. :foot:

kgd special:

Toasted rye bread, well buttered. Bottom piece slathered with Samba Oleic (fresh chilli sauce). Overlayed with pan-fried yellow perch in a cornflake batter. Spoonful of cottage cheese on top of the fish. Lettuce and tomatoes, topped off with other piece of rye.

"The John" is not a very appetizing name but here goes:

Provalone cheese
Salami
Pepperoni
Ham
Lettuce
Roasted Peppers
Black & Green olives
Green & Red Peppers
Sliced Onions
Oil & Vinegar
Basil/Oregano/Salt/Pepper

The Steven
-Crust Italian Bread
-Olive mix
-Thick cut Rare Prime Rib
-a little Mayo
Served with Horse radish and "Tims" potato chips (thick cut w/sea salt)

Kind of messy with a hard crusty outside, a juicy fat middle and enough bite to make it interesting. Steven

"The Kookalooch"

Pepper turkey
Pepperjack cheese
bacon
lettuce
tomato
mayo

Place it all on a Portugese roll.

Yum. :D

"The Heart Attack"

Two thick slabs of rye bread-toasted and buttered

Dijon mustard and mayo on top piece

Bottom piece gets your favorite cheese, thick slabs of braunschweiger, thick slabs of Vidalia onion, strips of thick cut bacon, and some black pepper if desired

Combine the two halves, enjoy with any good beer! Drop dead two hours later with a smile on your face, from the fat content. -Matt-

This sounds too good to pass up! Gonna have to try this one sometime soon! :D I think I'll also have to print out the rest of this thread when it gets going and try them all! -Matt-

Trying to keep this thread going - because sandwiches are wonderful things:

Fresh homemade white bread
Big slab of homecooked picknick ham
(be sure to get some fat and skin on your ham slice)
Layer of sourkraut that has been fried in an iron skillet with vidalia onions
Generous slather of hot mustard

Good to go!

"The Roth of God"------

roth being my last name and a play on the word "wrath" and pronounced 'roth' as is the standard British pronunciation of that word.

I'm not sure about some of the other details, but I can tell you right now that any sandwich named after me would have a lot of Kobe beef in it and also one of Blair's (or Mad Dog's) HOT sauces. Blair's 16 million reserve should be about right come ot think of it.

Blair's 16 million reserve:

Kobe beef:

It'll probably kill you but you'll die happy. And ofcourse you'd have to sign wavers of liability.

My kinda sandwich.:)

The Broccoli Di Smegs

Abruzzi bread or good Italian roll
Italian sweet sausage
Broccoli Rabe (bitter broccoli) similar to mustard greens
Olive Oil
Garlic
Sharp Provolone cheese (optional)
Locatelli cheese

Cook sausage. Saute Broccoli Rabe with olive oil and garlic
Place on roll, sprinkle generously with Locatelli, a little sharp provolone and drizzle with a good olive oil.

Variation on grilled cheese:

Start with your buttered bread aside
Fry some meatloaf in a pan with some onions and butter (fry the onions until caramelized)
throw it on your buttered bread with a couple slices of cheese
squirt with yellow mustard
add 2nd piece of buttered bread (maybe another piece of cheese too)
pan fry until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown

My favorite sandwich was actually called the "Bambi", named after the Puerto Rican counterman at the deli on Governor's Island in NY Harbor. It is long gone, so I will make it mine now:

Sandwich 9 from Outer Space

roast beef

provalone

several slices of crispy, savory bacon

salt, pepper and mayo

on a good hoagie/sub/hero/grinder/wedge roll

That's it - simple, yet oh so delicious.

The "Winner"

Slicing Pepperoni
Muenster
Grilled on Rye usung Mayo instead if butter

HMMMM!

Win

It would be greasy, probably some hair on it accidentally, and would come back when you least expect it ;).

Hmmm. Seriously, how about a burger, with grated cheddar and grated pepper jack cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, fried onions, mushrooms, sweet peppers and some salsa. On whole wheat bread. Medium rare.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I'll go a different direction.

"Tribute to the King"

Toasted wheat bread, buttered
Layer a good bit of Clover honey on one slice
Add a nice thick layer of Extra Crunchy Jiff Peanut Butter to the other.
Slice a superbly-ripe banana onto the peanut butter.
Slap it together, while it's still warm, and the honey is dripping.

One of my favorites...

Daniel

Salami
Turkey

Pepper
Mushroom
