If you had to choose your top 3.

Again Steven I'm like you -- Bowies and Fighters tend to get mixed as they are on my site.

Ok, Roger, I'll play but with a few adjustments. 4 Bowies and 3 or 4 fighters lol. I figure that this is fair. the original poster is using 25% of his collection so at this rate, I should be able to include 25% of mine or a total of 41 knives so lets use the 41 to mean 4 of 1 and 4 of another lol.

So lets go.

In no specific order

first is a John White Bowie

standard

Bailey Bradshaw -- Sam Bell style Bowie

standard

Al Pendray Wootz Bowie

standard

Rodrigo Sfreedo bowie

standard

Now for the fighters

This one is #1

Fred Carter Fighter

standard

Warren Osborne Fighter

standard

David Broadwell, carved fighter

standard

Rodrigo Sfreedo Integral Damascus Fighter

standard

Now that was tough because if one looks in the whole Bowie Fighter site

http://phymurphotos.fototime.com

scroll to Bowies and Fighters

I think it is easy why it is difficult to choose only the 4 mentioned and shown.

I could've picked more, but these will do just fine...

Not that I have lots of customs to choose from, but the fixed blade choices are hard.

How about top bowie:

And top folder:

Makes it easier for me. :D

Kevin,
Not that you need to be told, but the damascus on that Dean is spectacular. Nice groupings from everyone so far.

Right now, of those that I plan on keeping as of right now, I have a Bud Nealy Cave Bear, a Scott Gossman PSK, and I am getting a Larry Nowicki camp knife soon. I plan on keeping all of those, but had commissioned a camp knife from Scott, that is too big for my needs. So, this stands for now. I find that as tastes change over time, I may change my mind.

So what influences your decision to keep these three?

To me the 3 knives that I have chosen, they represent some of the best of the best for ME. The Kevin Wilkins Avalon 3 just fits my hand so well. It has a 3 inch blade of BG-42. I just love everything about this knife. It is perfect for me. The Tom Mayo knife speaks for itself. To me Tom Mayo's work is the epitome of perfection in knife form. The Matt Cucchiara. This knife IS a work of art that is useable. I admire the way he CARVES titanium. I love all kinds of animals, and I just love the Gecko on this knife. It is a frame lock, which IS my favorite kind.It is a tough little knife. It is a small knife, and I like small knives for when I go to Boston; as they have a max, blade length of 2 1/2. Also a big part of my choosing, is also the relationship with 2 of the makers. I like buying from friends. These knives are all unique as well, which is another reason I chose the 3 I did. They are just very special to me. Anyway....I have rambled on enough.....
