If you had to cull your collection.........

Keepers in order of favorites are:

1. John Etzler custom Damascus with Bark Mammoth Ivory scales, filewook throughout. Sole authored workmanship-special.

2. Ken Steigerwalt custom Damascus with Bark Mammoth Ivory scales, fileworked nickel silver liners, and very specially hand scalloped bolsters-a beaut.

3. Gerber Paul with yellow micarta scales scrimed with very cool hunting motif on both sides (bird dog, ducks, water scene)-way ahead of its time.

4. Al Mar Titan wood folder - my first decent quality knife bought for me by my wife years ago. Don't tell her it ranked 4th! Shhh

5. I don't have a knife worthy of the number 5 slot...so I guess I'll have to go shopping!!!

1) Brend Eliminator in JSP rig
2) MOD CQD
3) Crawford Wortac
4) Farid T100 (polka-dot :) )
5) Strider BD

Just got some news the other day and might have to sell all of My knives soon.I'll keep My Spyderco Endura. The BM's and EKI,Vics.etc. and most firearms will go but not the Endura nor My J-Frame Smith.tom.:(

Top ten:

BM 710
BM 705
Spyderco Calypso Jr.
Spyderco Moran
Buck "Zipper" in ATS-34
Cold Steel Master Hunter
Older Buck 110 in 440C
Schrade Wolverine (believe it or not)
Spyderco Centofante
Spyderco Ladybug (I use this little sucker almost as much as my EDC Benchmade 705)

One knife? I don't own it yet. But if I was limited to a single knife, it would be a custom fixed blade in a medium size. I like to hunt and camp too much to limit myself to a folder. Fixed blades are more dependable in the field--period.

I guess I could do without just about everything but my Sebenzas and at least one SAK.

boy, that's a tough decision to make. Even though it's a top ten, there is always that "other" knife you want to hold on to.
here's my list(not ranking), of course it will change in a few months I'm sure.
1. Carson large M-16
2. Lightfoot M1
3. Hall Bounty Hunter
4. CRK Sebenza
5. CRK Project 1
6. Strider AR
7. Strider GB
8. Strider SnG
9. Busse Combat Basics #9
10. Spyderco Endura
That will do for now, I would really hate to have to cull the others though! We should add a Multi-tool category.....and a Flashlight category....the list goes on and on... :D

This is actually something I have been thinking about doing. I have several knives that I dearly "love" but it really bugs me that they just sit in a knife case never to get carried and only fondled every so often. So I have been giving it some thought and I have come up with the following;

GONERS:
-Brad Duncan large Whiplash
-J.W. Smith LS-1 Recurve

-J.W. Smith LDC-5 with custom stag handles:eek:
-Kit Carson E&E
-Mike Obenauf standard model 2 large framelock

KEEPERS:
-J.W. Smith Scimitar
-J.W. Smith LDC-5 that is being modified as I type.
-J.W. Smith LS-1 Eighties
-Mike Obenauf framelock special order
-Bob Dozier Tactical 6 fixed blade.

INCOMING:
-Charles Marlowe large spearpoint
-Mike Obenauf large model 2 framelock with clip point
-Kit Carson E&E with stainless backspacer
-J.W. Smith special order 4" blade folder

Counting the incoming that gives me a total of nine knives.........still too many, but I see no other way to cull any more of them out!

We all like the BM 940 Osborne the best here at AG Russell.
MAURICE,Cory and I all carry them on a daily basis. We think its the best production knife out there.
