Beyond the knives you had packed in your bags, what knives do you own that would make the evacuation? For example, I live in NYC, so if the shizzle hit the fizzle, I'd have the BK3, RTAK-II and Leatherman in my B.O.B., however as Nick a.k.a. Crazy said it, I'd have to go for the queens and get the hell out of Dodge.

The 77s would absolutely get packed, but what would you guys pack?

Since I've sold about every 'production' knife I've owned.. (except Becker) I'm kinda limited on this one.......especially since I've blown up my b.o.b. I'd have to regroup...

so in short I'd be sol...........

I would probably just die in the hurricane because I'd still be trying to decide.

Got a serious bag packed and sitting in the closet. The car trunk has useful repair tools, fluids, multiple fire starting doo dads, an axe and machete, shovel etc. Wind up flashlight and Ka-Bar Mule in glove box with other survival goodies. Oh ya, there is usually a canteen in the trunk also, likely more odds and ends. Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

Seriously, I keep a go bag packed. Big one in the closet, smaller BOB in the truck.
I don't keep my most expensive gear or knives in the truck BOB for fear of theft, but I do have gear in it that works. The main knife is a Camillus BK-2.
As for knives, I do have bags kept handy with my most common users. Three bags--one for smaller knives, one for mid-sized, one for bigger choppers.
I might wind up grabbing those three bags if I had time. Would depend on the situation.

If your specifically talking about knives, I'd just take what was on me or already in the car. What's in the safe would stay in the safe as far as knives go. There are a few assets I would take from the safe, Blades they are not.

I'd grab my "go" bag with the knives and gear I'm familiar with, but would probably add a short axe and a machete.

Edit: On second thought. I've been to Dodge. I'd just leave my stuff and get the hell out.

You missed the question, besides the essentials, what part of your collection makes it out alive?

1. My rush 24 is usually packed with clothes and essentials
2. Becker bk2(If it ever arrives )
3. Trail Hawk (Although I'd like to sub it for a pipe hawk by then)
4. Grohmann #4
5. Tweener (if they are around by then)

Machax, sorry gundude! Leatherman in my bag and Jeep always. BK10 in my bag and BK2 in the Jeep. Maybe the ESEE4 or 5 as well.

I'll be ready for a lot of crap. My only fear with living on the Oregon coast is that by the time the earthquake stops shaking the sunami will almost be here, might have 20 minutes to get it together...just a matter of time...it's bound to happen.

Regardless of what I already have packed (I have a small BOB, medium, and extended stay) the BK2 would definitely be my number one choice. I love my 9, but I feel the BK2 is damn near indestructible.

Camelbak Linchpin
BK2
Esee Izula II
Esee Lite Machete whan I get one (VERY SOON)
Astroglide

All my blades that are worth a crap are in a RubberMaid container. Beckers, Ka-Bars, Ontarios, Condor, Gerbers, sharpeners. Heavy, yes, thats why i have the ultimate get out of Dodge truck. A Dodge Power Wagon, to put my family & all my B.O.B. gear in. Guns, knives, food, camping eqip & whatnot. I can get outta Dodge, with my Dodge, without taking the roads most traveled. LOL

Aside from the obvious, I would take the expensive/irreplaceable ones; ie.. the 77 when I get it, and the 10 when I get it. After I get those, the 9 for sure because it's just a huge fricken knife. You need a huge fricken knife when the shizzy happens. :D

I'm with Oergon on this one. If i had minutes to load up non essentials... i would look like the friggin punisher walking out of my house. I would use the few moments to load and holster every firearm I own, slide my 30-30 into it's scabbard on my BOB, grab extra grub, baby stuff, and head out.
