If you had to pick one !!!

Lost at sea and stuck in an open raft would be the worst. Surrounded by all that water that you cant drink is a depressing thought.

The Saharan desert, with nothing but sand dunes, would be just as bad i imagine.

High desert or the ocean. No wood for fire, shelter, traps or tools, constant exposure to the sun, no water sources, bugs that will literally eat you alive, difficult terrain...

African plains and jungle: your rarely on the top of the food chain, there's constant war, waters only available in the raining season, and water you find to drink during the dry season will kill you a little slower than a pack of Hyena's eating you alive. That's just a personal fear though. IMO, Anywhere is a terrible place to survive if you don't come with the right kit and attitude. Come prepared, and it's just a slightly long and uncomfortable camping trip.

Yeah without a desalinator that would be a grim prosect !

Bear demonstrated an technique that may come in handy in this type of survival situation

I only hope he had some PJ cotton balls handy

Yup, a lot of the stated scenarios would truly suck. I've been in the Philippine jungle a couple of times, and I think the biggest problem there is that the Jungle is literally "alive" and eats everything.

My worst scenario would be a tie with lost at sea or a desert. Dehydration being the main problem.

I'd say jungle - oppressive humidity and heat, biting insects, claustrophobic feeling from the overgrowth and canopy, little to no trails, snakes, vines, parasites. Nah-ah!
Equal billing would be what another post said: some forsaken third world urban environment having a culture and language alien to me.

Lost at sea, desert, Arctic, jungle...........I don't want to be stuck in any of them. As to which I'd dread the most.......that would be a tough call.

BTW, for those that mentioned the ocean, I'd recommend you get ahold of 'Adrift' by Steven Callahan - a great read by a guy stuck in a life raft for 76 days.

Well...I know a little about the jungle...at least some of the sub tropics...and virtually nothing about the desert. What I do know about the tropics makes me think I'd much rather try my luck in the desert...because I really don't plan on going to a jungle by choice...I still want to see the desert. I guess that makes the jungle the one I really don't want to go to. Personally I think I'd love to see Siberia...like right this minute...these bugs and 100F + heat indexes are starting to get to me :)

i've never been in a real jungle, so i'll have to say at sea or frozen wasteland.

i don't mind visiting snow, but i don't think i'd want to live in it.

Unfortunately I live in my choice... NYC.........But seriously the open ocean in a life raft would plain suck.

That's funny. For me, same 2. Grew up in NYC, but would rather go back there than float around in the middle of the ocean. I just hate dropping down in the food chain.

I just spit water all over my screen. Fortunately the keyboard is fine. Thanks for the laugh. :D

For me, it would be a deep, dark cave with no light. I am not clausterphobic, but I do like the idea of some sky, some materials other than wet rock.
