If You Like Ugly. . . Howz About A Competition Blade Finish???

Thanks Rick,
Hey is that you in one of the pics from knob creek? Beside Sam?

Negative, Ghostrider. I am sitting at home, watching the NLCS. Go Rockies!

It looks like the bevels are not part of the competition finish.

The competition finish looks like a knife almost ready for a coating. I think that it would be nice to get these, not only to have an ugly user, but for those who want to do mod work on their knives anyway, it would save them some work by not having to strip the knife before they work on it and it may save a dollar or two in the initial cost. A win win situation.

I wold buy them for a few reasons. First off they would probably be the first knives shipped when a new model starts shipping, so that would be a plus. It would also be like an empty canvas, ready for any hand sanding or bead blasting that I wanted to do to it. Also it would be nice to have a knife that you can't mess up by using it.

I bet that some guys would even buy them without scales.

Not to mention that they (should) might be cheaper. This is really a good idea for those of us that want users.
Anyone ever seen a finished "Jack Hammer" before? Is this a SJ variant? Looks sweet!

Looks as if the Jackhammer is an SJTAC variant with a clip point and the CBT type "bevel". I'll repeat my poll vote and state "I'll take it." Pete

If in fact you start selling this finish, will there be jackhammers for sale too? I like the look of this knife!

Rick, thanks for digging up that pic. But those are not the same knives. The one in Jerry's post has a shorter blade than the one in your post.

Of course, I'll take them both!

You're right, but I'm confused. In Jerry's post above, he says:

Here's a pic of the Jack Hammer with the Competition Finish

In the post with that picture I linked, he says:

Here ya go! Here's the standard Busse Combat 1911 with the Jack Hammer

So I wonder which is the real McCoy?

and is that a Krein TK-11 Bird and Trout in your hand?

Can I get a set with that finish? Hmm- FBM, FSH, HR, Meaner, AD, ...

I like my smaller knives nice an' purdy...but the big un's....gimme ugly and functional...I just strip em and hand finish em anyways. When confronted with a brand new SFNO, I couldn't resist and went to town on it...it's now got my own "Beater" finish.

I'd like to see some knives come out with that finish. Save some money and hassle :D.

I wouldn't mind a 13.5'' Swedged BB SHBM in that finish :D 3/16'' thick :D!!!!
