If you lost a Half Face Blades knife in your NorCal apartment complex recently, please read.

under the bush? you might also want to contact the local police.

Agreed, although chances are they will want to confiscate the knife. And I doubt they will look half as hard for the original owner as the OP is doing. Unless there is blood on the blade, of course. ;)

Thank you for re-affirming the notion that there are still lots of good folks out there!

The police might know of a recent break-in at the apt complex and know the owner?

They might...but most burglers don't steal things just to drop them in the bushes.

I've been LEO for 33 years....I wish it worked that way. As I said 3 posts up, chances are they will confiscate it for "evidence", make little to no effort to find the owner, and it will either be destroyed or find it's way into a new "owner's" hands after a certain amount of time.

OK to post this info the the HFB Facebook group?
Thanks for offering! T tusk212 said they posted a screenshot to their Facebook page already, but if you're talking about a different FB group, by all means please go for it.

The bush itself was right next to a walking path, with the knife just barely underneath the bush, so it felt more like an accident than a concealment attempt. I took a look around the complex and there don't seem to be any signs of break-ins, and there weren't any notifications from apartment management. I also referenced a crime map of the neighborhood which uses data from the city police department, and there's only one incident of petty theft last month (11/26), so I think the timeframe is a bit off - all in all, I think the likelihood of crime being related to this is low, though not impossible.

I do appreciate that you guys brought it up though, I hadn't seriously considered the possibility before.

You’re going way beyond the call, especially since now every member who loses a knife is going to ask you to walk around outside their apartment. That’s gonna cut into your knife-perusing schedule something fierce. No good deed goes unpunished, y’know.

But good on ya anyway, and welcome to BF.

Parker
