  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

if you made a W&SS TV series......

I would go for a graduated style.

season one- how to make fire, why a space blanket is good to carry. What the hell is a PSK? If you want to do major undetakings like a week with nothing but a knife, save it for another season.

I'd also skip the whole solo thing. ya, ya, you have to train for it, but really, groups give you better options for film, editing, teamwork, and realism. A group of three- or your facewoman with a rotating cast of 2 'trainiees'.

I think I'd get a bunch of washed up 'celebrities' and have them led by an ex-special forces guy. At the end of the week, one of the celebrities will be eliminated. This is all leading up to a $100,000 prize. They'd have to hunt for food, lay traps, build fires. I think I could hook something up with VH1.

I like that idea. I think if I did one it would be comical in nature.

Mostly a joke, but I'm sure it's not too far off from the shows they think of in VH1, E! MTV meeting rooms...

I'd really do a show with how you guys do your w&ss meetings. A few people, teaching stuff like bow drills, and snares, wood craft, basket weaving in different enviornments like in deserts, snowy places, northwoods, plains.

udtjim , hey

“What I personally have against many of the survival shows is that they cover so much stuff that will never pertain to most people.”

Yup. On that theme I'd like to see stuff like this brought more to the fore. 'Tis true that for the most part I don't favor serrated blades, I've even gone to the trouble of removing them from quite a few knives, but the fact remains they have outstanding usefulness at simple tasks in tough environments. The punishment this one is taking yet still keeps cutting is the kind of thing one should be taking into account anywhere, not just the romantic settings.

koyote, hola

Dunno about skipping but it is surely worth stressing for realism. People are often more useful than kit. I've not gone through the numbers on this but here is a thread someone put up somewhere else – 'tis using extreme examples but it is surely more realistic than most of that lone wolf survival malarkey. Why even Ray Mears dies alone in the subarctic

No matter where it is it would require Wifi and a laptop to post pics!
