If you needed to sell stuff....

If you had dozens (or hundreds) of Busse knives, a large number guns, and many thousands of rounds of ammo that you needed to convert to cash legally, how would you do it?

Not asking for a friend. I will be retiring and moving to a much smaller place in the next couple of years. I have accumulated much stuff, and I have to cut way back.
Insofar as your Busse collection is concerned there is probably no better and safer pace to sell them than right here.

If you have super high end customs like Loveless, Lake etc I would approach someone like Dave Ellis or Michael Denato to sell them for you. They will look after them correctly.

Anything else say sub-$2K you could list here or AZK is a good option.

It depends on how much time you wanted to devote to the effort…

The quickest/least work: live with the 25% / ship off to AZCK.

The next quickest: See if you can find a bulk buyer… maybe offer 15-20% off, for making life simpler, less emails, less boxes, less labels, etc.

The next… most money for you and the most time time/effort… individually/group shot on The Exchange.

Edit: AZCK is a quick way to get it out of your house, but selling time (money in your pocket) could be on the long side. All depends on how much of a hit you’d take on pricing.

What is the discount on buying ammo from an individual? I’m curious to the kind of discount buyers expect buying ammo that might not be good due to unknown storage conditions or time sitting.

I’ve got so much in air tight ammo cans that I’ve had unopened for 10+ years and don’t really want to sell but I’m curious to what the resale value would be compared to the same product being sold new on the shelf of a bass pro for example.

After re-reading the original post if you have 2-3 years I would try to sell the blades on the exchange here. Maybe 10-20 at a time. After a year or two if you have some that don't sell and you have to move them send them off to AZCK.

Not sure about firearms and ammo

Let me know if ya got desert tech srs covert 2. Shot in a dark, but figured I'd ask, cause I'll be in a market for one soon.

John, I sent you a pm
I can help you with any older Smith & Wesson revolvers you may have

I’d start with gifts to my children, brothers, nephews and friends if financially able.

Next would be friends and friends of friends, and flyers at my local gun club.

I’d use the exchange, but as I ran out of time I’d be tempted to make a package deal or offer discounts to people who had already bought from me.

Is it too early to be asking if you have any P-08 Lugers in 9mm, or Smith and Wesson pre-lock revolvers in .38 or .357 ?

No and no. If I had a Luger, I'd be keeping is, and my only revolvers are Webleys, which I'll also be keeping.

Umm. Are you in texas?

I am.

Dibs if he’s near Houston! 🤣

That's where the smaller place is going to be. Still a couple years, though.

Thanks for the insight. I guess for the knives, I'll have to find them all (where did I put that BOSC ID and those AAs?) and list them on the exchange over the next couple of years. Shoot the ammo and figure out what to do with all those ARs and AKs later.

How does that work if you don't have an FFL?

Gunbroker has fairly easy to follow turtorial on selling. It's legal to ship without an FFL as long as you ship to an FFL holder. And you just have to be sure the FFL you ship to accepts shipments from a non- FFL holder. Most will, but there are still some who won't. Or you could find a local FFL holder and pay a fee to have them ship the guns.

This is what I found and the way I have shipped several. Be sure to check with your options on shipping, USPS will not ship guns for non ffl (I'm not sure if they will with ffl).
FedEx and UPS have some different policies, if I remember correctly a individual can ship a handgun via UPS next day air.

A member I bought a snakeskin INFI SHSHII from said a guy in Texas that owns some bars bought the matching SHBM.
If that’s you… I’m interested in the SHBM.

Congratulations on retiring. I'll be keeping my eyes on the exchange. Know that you will be passing them on to fellow bacon lovers.
