This thread has inspired some future purchases for me. funny, because I just spent a $100 gift card at cabelas on a Crosman Pumpmaster Classic and Some of them fancy U/A sandals with the weird soles on them.
 
I'm not sure on prices but I doubt it's over 100. This assumes proper clothing or middle of summer camping.

Tarp. One of the blue ones or just a shower curtain from a ross or second hand store.
Piece of tyvek for ground cloth. Scrounged, prolly free.
pot. Ross or second hand store.
Gatorade/water bottle.
rope for the tarp. You can scrounge for this too if you don't want to buy. I've yet to need the benefits(inner strands) of paracord though I carry it.
bic
synthetic sleeping bag or simply the comforter off your bed assuming you can pack it.
I would also get a sleeping pad but depending on where/how you camp you may not need one.

I may have forgotten something important but this is the basics. Everything else is gravy.
