....I know that won't be possible, but if you had to pick just one, or at least, the first one, which would it be?

1) RC-3MIL

2) RC-4

3) Izula

Machete Lite is a given once it comes out.

If I didn't have any other really good blades for bushcrafting I'd get the RC-4.

If I had other things or wasnt really into bushcraft I'd get an Izula just because (if your laws permit it) you can carry it with you everyday in your pocket and it is an awesome knife.

Of the choices given...depends on the area I was going to be in the most...

In the woods...I'd take the RC/ESEE 4 easily.

In an urban environment...then I'd have to think more, I don't own a 3 but I do have an Izula, I like the thicknes of the Izula better but I like that the 3 can come with serrations...that said I chose the H.E.S.T for my primary urban RC/ESEE tool because of the thicker blade, and the Izula for back-up.

I would pick the ESEE 3 MIL, I think it's the most versitle knife that they make. It's large enough for cxaming and outdoor work, still small enough to EDC, has a glass breaker tip, and in general is just a sweet knife.

I can see there's no to have just one :)

I'm trying to avoid my usual tendencies:
1) If it's too heavy, I won't carry it.
2) If it's too rare or hard to replace, I won't travel with it.

I'm tired of knives becoming collectors items. Sure they're nice to have , but the reality is that they don't do me any good sitting in a case.

Main priority for this will be a field knife -- hunting, general field use.

I'm sure I'll end up with a Izula in my fly fishing vest at some point.

Well all of yall have made up my mind I will have to get the H.E.S.T Izula RC-3. I already have the 5 and then I can take a brake

Depends on what I need it for. If for EDC, Izula. Primarily woods use, the ESEE 4.

I'd have to say the RC3. It doesn't give up that much to the 4 for woods use, is a bit better (IMHO) for processing game, is still small enough to EDC, and can handle larger jobs than the Izula.

That said, I'm glad I don't have to choose!

Having all three is like having three girl friends that don't know about each other.....SWEET!!!!!
