If you only knew

Mr. Emerson, how dare you have your own opinion, you need to do what everyone says and think their way...

Seriously though, some people are out of their minds. Everyone that doesn't think or agree with them should be shot... Good thing we live in a country where we can think for ourselves.

I don't always agree with what everyone says but I don't have to bash them for it. If they want to think their way, let them.

Product is product.

He makes a good point. Your money has unknowingly gone to all kinds of things to people with very different worldviews.

I need a quality product that is well supported and useful to me. If you are using the proceeds to start a puppy killing farm or fund a nuclear Iran just keep it to yo damn self!

Emerson, I respect the fact that you have the cajones to voice your opinion. May not be the best marketing strategy but then again the controversy creates business. 99% of this country is run by empty shells called corporations. It's nice to hear from the 1% sometimes!

P.s. when you gonnamake another run of lefty commanders?

Personally I found the solution to be to not read Emerson's blog and I no longer have any issues. I don't agree with him on nearly anything he writes there but the cqc7 is one hell of a knife and I'll keep buying them.

Same for me,as a french guy I'm certainly a kind of hippy for most of you... but just ordered a super cqc8 yesterday and I will buy a Persian next month :D

When you are successful in what you do, you draw attention from the haters, the ones who CAN NOT succeed. These are the ones who are looking UP at the top. They feal better about themselves by belittling and making threats.

Mr. Emerson, I have followed you and your products for 20 years and I own many. Besides making a fantastic knife(s), you have a strong conviction.

Keep the Faith, and you will prevail.

Personally, I think it's bullshit for you to speak on the behalf of others in the industry. While I'm still waiting to buy a knife from you (your designs are extremely intriguing) I try not to be dissuaded by others in their attacks on you. But to say (and arrogantly I might add) that we, the commoners almost, that we are out the realm of knowledge, and that had we been the lucky elite that got the 'insider detail' of how companies really feel is completely out of line.

Where did you think you would go with this? You have NO way of backing up your claim, other than an extreme outcry from other company figures saying "Emerson is right: we all share his political viewpoints." You're nothing more than a man claiming his God is greater than the others, simply by belief.

That is not logic, or science. Its arrogance.

David really? Context my friend. Emerson did not say all companies share his beliefs, he said that all companies have opinions, and don't make them public. That every dollar you spend, you just might be funding an ideal that is not your own. Emerson is just vocal on his beliefs. I know of a sheath maker in these forums that is extremely vocal on his liberal ideals, and it does dissuade me from buying his products, but I dont want to bash him for his ideals.

You are a good man in my book Mr Emerson! Keep the faith and fight the good fight.
1. He donates knives to good causes which tells me he's got a good heart.
2. He tells it like he see's it, and he's passionate.
Never met the man but seems like a good Joe.

Mr Emerson, i was fortunate to meet you at the california custom knife show last fall. Before i even came to your booth or knew who you were, you had given me a friendly thumbs up for the shirt i was wearing. When i did come to your booth you were friendly and welcoming to conversation. Honestly out of every maker i talked to that day, i remember you most for how welcoming and pleasant you were.

I'm glad you're someone who stands by what he believes in and won't be silent because he's afraid. There will always be those who don't understand or don't share in your beliefs. In my book, you're one of the good ones.

Mr. Emerson, everything you write on the internet seems to rub me the wrong way, but when I watch or listen to an interview it makes me reevaluate. I disagree with many of your views and probably always will, but I having dug a bit deeper I'll do so with respect.
Disagreeably yours,
Richard

I can only assume that those threats are hollow. Who would really want to tangle with Mr. Emerson? Sounds like a good way to get embarrassed and hurt.

And insipid moniker, I get that feeling sometimes too. I agree with a lot of what he says, but I think he just likes to vent to the knife community.

Great occasions do not make heroes or cowards; they simply unveil them to the eyes of men. Silently and imperceptibly, as we wake or sleep, we grow strong or weak; and at last some crisis shows what we have become.

I learned of your knives about a year and a half ago. From a former Marine Sniper. He told of your character and the type of man you are. That is why I just recently purchased a knife from your daughter Megan who took the time to look for a serial number that just happened to be the same as the age I am turning. It will be an early B-Day present. This is my first Emerson but I can guarantee it will not be my last. I will always have an Emerson in my pocket and so will my son. I remember you saying in your interview that you haven't advertised for several years. Well you don't have to because your character has already been unveiled and to me that speaks volumes. Actions speak louder than words. I have had the opportunity to watch all of surviving the kill zone videos and have already read a couple of the books you suggested in your seminar and if it wasn't for your character and the impression you had on that marine I might have never had the chance to learn from MAN like you. Customer for life.

To all of those in the knife community I would like to ask a question... Why is it we own and carry tactical knives or guns or what ever it may be. For some it may be for show, for some it may be for recognition, for some it may just be a hobby which are all fine. But for most I would hope it would be for more important reason, that being to protect those who are unable to protect themselves. They are nothing more than pieces of metal and plactic used as tools to protect our families, friends and those we love. That is the reason I myself carry and own these tools and I would rather have just one man like Mr. Emerson by my side in the field of battle or on the nastiest streets than I would have ten who are worried more about losing customers. Mr. Emerson is a man of honor who stands for something that's slowly being lost and and considered uncommon in the world. That being said I would also rather carry a knife that is was designed by a man who would gladly lay down his life for his friends than one designed by someone who doesn't even know his customers. These are the type of men that are protecting us everyday that we don't even know about that own and use Emerson knives.

Thank. You Mr. Emerson for all that you do and all that you stand for. The world would be a better place if there more MEN in this world like you. Keep serving those that serve others.

I love your knives Emerson though i wish the fit and finish was better where does the money go?

I just purchased my first Emerson, a micro commander.

I love when companies stand behind their product and their views, and don't let people get to them. Those are the people that I look up to and will continue to buy from. To be honest I wasn't 100% ready to drop the coin on an Emerson, until I saw that vid from this years shot show by Nutnfancy. I know he gets a lot of flack on the forums, but he did a great job at letting Mr. Emerson talk about his knives. And you know what convinced me? I saw a man who knows his stuff and loves knives, and loves talking about, making and using knives. As the man himself has said, he's been in the business 25 years. That earns a lot of respect from me, knowing that he has created a company that makes a great product and has stood through thick and thin and continues to deliver. And THAT is why I bought an Emerson.

I thank you for your service to the knife community Mr. Emerson, and thanks for being such a bona-fide BAD @$$. I can't wait to use your product.

Mr. Emerson,
I don't care what your views and opinions are, Political, Religious or otherwise.
I have carried an Emerson knife for the last 10 years, A P-Sark for 7 years and
a Super Commander for the last 3 years, When I can afford it I will add an Ubr Commander
to my EDC rotation. I just feel better knowing I can rely on your knives to defend my life or
open a box for that matter.
Thank You!!
Joseph
