serioiusly.
In the past 2 months I've seen everyone in my family to the hospital or vet bleeding.
First my little dog, trimmed a toe nail too short and she bleed out like crazy. poor think can't have a half pint of blood total.

Second, Me. There's a big thread aobut it on here. Too lazy to search. (ps healed up nicely btw)

Third, Sig (GSD)
today, I was opening a package of jollyranchers with my socom elite. Fresh off the strope.... sharp. we're talking hair popping stupid sharp. Well stupid sticks his nose on the counter at the worst possible time. the blade bounced off his nose, and not hard thank God. But being that sharp, it got him. kitchen is covered in blood, I'm covered, truck bed, and now the vets office. bleeding stopped after like 20 minutes. He's at the vets, they're going to sedate him and stich it. I feel horrible.

told the wife she better watch herself.

edit: ps that pic was before I reprofiled the bevel.

Damn. That stinks bro. Thoughts your way. Boudreuax bled like hell when that little dog mauled him. He turned out OK. They're tough that way.

sounds like my kind of luck, hope your dogs okay. this is probably a bad time to reprofile that machete or sharpen a kukri.

well i wasn't sure if I was going backpacking this weekend, but now I pretty well HAVE to take him.

goofy dog, he was just as happy as he could be going for an early morning truck ride. lol damn dog was hangin' his head over the side with tounge flying and bright red bloody face just tickled to be riding. lol happy as he could be. my truck has red racing stripes now.

awh sorry bro! he'll be fine and probably more spoiled now! ;)
it happens, but you don't have any kids right?! :D

well at any rate it makes for a great story, just don't tell it around anyone in the humane society, there could be trouble.

That is one of my fears. Doing some everyday cutting task and someone falls or pops some appendage at the absolute wrong time. then I look like an out of control maniac.

Don't feel too bad. I learned a valuable lesson while camping this Fourth of July (translated - that was really a stupid thing to do, but I'm sure it will happen again as soon as I forget this lesson). Never, ever attempt to fasten a Grandford Bruks Axe to your Maxpedition Versipack while barefoot. Razor sharp axe can fall out of sheath while attempting to fasten to strap. Gravity being what it is can produce serious injury despite catlike (almost) reflexes in barefooted person. Luckily it only grazed my foot so pressure bandage stoped bleeding immediately. No stitches but could have been very bad.

sure 2. one is black, 6.5 lbs, and has long wavy hair. The other is brown, black, and white, weights 100lbs, and has tons of short hair. (and a nice scar on his nose.)

same here. it could have been worse though. I work with razor blades daily, and my little dog comes to work with me. I can't tell you how many times one has gotten knocked off the counter and stuck in the ground. I try to watch for accidents, but you can't control everything.

It is good to post this stuff.

I use machetes and sometimes train around the house doing Kali drills. I defintely make sure my son is far away but kids are unpredictable. Just makes me sick.

I just try to be as mindful as possible.

I once stab myself in the big toe. It was an opinel.
I was at home, barefoot. The knife fell down the table without me noticing, locked open.
I came back to the table, and felt something scratching on my big toe, then something as if it was wet. Only seconds latter I realized I was bleeding and what caused it (had lightly hit the tip with the front of my big toe). Fortunatly I did not hit it too hard and skin is pretty thick there, so it was benign, but the idea that I could have happily stepped on it (blade up) as well still gives me shivers.

Nothing wrong with that, hope the pup is feeling better...Mine chewed on each other to bleed all over my house one afternoon. What a mess...There fine...But thats another story...lol

Allright...time out...get yourself a Rescue Subcom and do your regular cutting with that...

:D
