Hi guys,
I'm in the mood to p/u a Delica..
The forest green FRN ZDP model is really catching my eye,(btw, this may just be my eyes, but the pics I've seen of the FG ZDP model look to have a pointier point than the D4, is this just my eyes or is it pointier more like the older Delicas?)

but..I could go for a FG G10 model as well w/ the VG-10 and Flat Grind.

I like em both, I just dont know which one to get. Flat grind vs. lighter weight(I assume w/ the FRN)

I was just looking for opinons and/or suggestions as to why you would choose one over the other.

Thanks!

ZDP-189 is only available in British Racing Green (BRG). This is a very deep dark green that many people will see as almost black without some "good" light. Should be the same point on all D4s. I prefer to keep em light with FRN. "High speed, low drag". The BRG D4 with some teeth is all about "HSLD".

I handled em both at the SFO.

I picked up the ZDP, it is the sharpest of my thirty odd Spydies @ this point.

The G10 was nice but heavier...I picked up an Endura in that one. Go with the BRG ZDP you will not be disappointed.

Jenner, I've been asking the same questions and think you give some good advice. For the money the Delica ZDP is an excellent choice and holds an edge for a crazy long time. For a bigger knife, the FFG Endura certainly differentiates itself in the current Spyderco lineup.1

If you can get your hands on one, I'd go with the Ti or CF Delica. Both are light and strong. I just started to use a Green G10 as my EDC. It is quite heavy, but also one of the most rigid Delicas Spyderco has ever made. I've been carrying a delica almost every day for the last 15 years. Love them. Lavan, that is a beautiful blade.

I'd also go with the VG10 D4 if it were me. I've had several VG10 and ZDP189 D4s. I don't like ZDP189 for anything and I've never found anything that my VG10 D4s couldn't do.

I keep one in my emergency bag in the car, my wife keeps one at work in her desk for a heavy user, I have a b/u in the closet at home, and my sister uses a VG10 D4 that I gave her at her job (she's an EMT).
