If you were Q, what folder for Bond?

First of all, Q designs spy gear for Bond; buying off-the-shelf knives is beneath his pay grade. But ultimately it depends on the Bond, the era, and most importantly: the mission. I suppose Q could design some sort of modular knife system which could be customized in the lab or the field to support the objective at hand, as opposed to designing a new knife for every new scenario--which might be more economical but also kind of boring.

You're talking about a man who carries an S.T dupont lighter for for his cigarettes (1000$+ lighter) and wears a Rolex submariner, he'd have a full custom worth about 4-5 g's in his pocket.

I'll go against the grain here, but as a secret agent one would have to fit in anywhere in the world. This would mean having a knife that would be low profile but useful as a weapon as well as a cutting tool. I agree it would probably have to be at least semi-custom, but not so customized that it would compromise the agent or his/her service if lost and found by the bad guys. I'd start with a SAK Cadet, add an assisted opening and locking feature, change the blade shape to include a bit more point, replace the nail file with a metal/wood saw, and put a small LED light on the keyring (dual color - white and red). Not sexy, but very functional. Oh, and it would be black!

Gareth Bull Shamwari or Warlock II.

With interchangeable explosive scales, remote detonator, garotte, magnet, homing beacon, and tazer of course.

Unfortunately I don't even have vague justification for owning an automatic. It would never be an issue (I've never been arrested and I can't fathom how it would come up), but I'm really leaning towards investing in a microtech socom tanto (probably chisel but I haven't decided). Such impressive knives, regardless of the issues that occasionally pop up.

The new run of manual Socom are sweet looking. I'd love a full serrated chisel ground tanto.

The original bond........... OMEGA paid the films to use OMEGA...... because they're garbage compared to Rolex, and the original had taste.

I'd give him a Sebenza - Valloton conversation.
The button embelished with the Union Jack.

Maybe one of these?

Dressy enough to not look too "military", but yet packs a punch.

Cheers and Regards,

XL Espada. Haha just kidding. Have fun fitting that in your tuxedo. Probably a ZT or something. But bit too bulky for Bond. For Sean Connery, a Kershaw Leek in S30V. Something sleek. For Pierce, I would imagine maybe a Buck Vantage Force Pro. And for Daniel Craig. A ZT0550. Or a Demko AD-10.

I'm thinking a gold class benchmade emissary, 530, or something along those lines is something bond might carry.
