If you were so inclined, what would you use to polish/remove scratches from bolster & remove patina?

i like shiny stuff. i like carbon steel for ease of sharpening vs cutting performance. As much as i try to let a 1095 blade patina and NS bolsters scuff up, I eventually give in and restore the shine on my chinese brand buffing wheel. It is by far the most used tool i have my amature knife tinkerer tool kit. fairly certain i will never hand rub paste polish on a knife again. The $40 cost of the buffer has saved me hours upon hours of time and knuckle pain.

I think a Cape Cod cloth or a Cartier cleaning cloth work the best.

Flitz. Just standard flitz in the tube, I don't use the liquid. Also, I would use the cloth wheel on a Dremel on low speed or I would use a power drill attachment for detailing headlights to buff the bolsters back to new grade polish. Light touch is all you need. Or a buffer is fine.

To remove patina from a blade, a flitzy paper towel, cotton ball, or cotton swab is fine.
Any reason to avoid the liquid flitz?

Just checking. When it comes to maintenance I'm careful just not very knowledgeable.

What I can say of the creme is that it works, and it's hard for me to imagine a less viscous/less microgritty substance doing a better job, although it very well may and I just don't know, either ;)
