If you were stranded on an island or in the woods, or an apocalyptic wasteland, what Becker knife if you only had one to take what would it be and why?

Easy, Machax.
Knife, chopper, draw knife, boomerang (still working that out) club. You name it. Kind of a biznitch to fillet a trout with though i'll give you that

BK9.

I'd take it, mostly because I would look like a total badass with a long beard, 2% body fat, a burlap loin cloth, a bamboo spear, and a BK9. When the rescuers found me, they'd be like, "Damn, look at that badass".

:D

Naw, I keed, I keed. It would do everything I needed it to, and to be honest, if I was in a real tough spot, I would want the biggest knife I could get.

I am also goin with the BK9. I have modified mine a little bit and I havent met anything it cant do yet. I made tiny feather sticks with it the other day.

My favorite and biggest of the Becker lineup, that I own,the BK9.If only choosing one,I want the bigger knife.

Of what I own? Prolly my BK-5. Of what I don't own? .... prolly the same.

BK2, it's plenty big enough to defend yourself with, but small enough that you aren't lugging around a ton of extra weight.

I only own a bk2, so I would go with that. However, I've never seen a bk9 or bk7 and might change my mind... Then again, I might not.

I would have to go with my 9, Most likely because I've never had my hands on a machax........Soon. I am pretty confident the 9 could handle what ever I needed to throw at it with the exception of the metal image of moose in a burlap loin cloth :barf: Not sure how to deal with that haha

That loincloth image may NEVER be erased from a now troubled mind....NEVER, dammit......Probably a NINE.....or a Machax....

The BK2 for me. I feel it would be harder to break the blade on the 2.

OK this is great. I just joined this forum like 5 hours ago while at work. I get home and pour a bourbon and the family is out so I decided to spend some time exploring beckerworld (just made that up)...and I read a post from some dude wanting to look "badass" in a loincloth with a BK9 on his hip and I promptly spat out the first sip of booze cause I was laughing so hard. That was hilarious and I wish I had thought of it.

However

To answer the question I would take the BK2, my love of knives comes from working in kitchens for years and I admire finesse and control...NO the BK2 doesn't come to mind if you think of finesse BUT it is the best balance of the BK blades that gives you a degree of fine control backed up with incredible strength and durability...I could skin a fish with the BK2 better than I could so so with the other, bigger blades. Come to think of it, I could get some fillets off that fish too but oh lordy would they be ugly looking....I guess that would'nt matter though would it, unless I was trying to impress some smokin native girl with my amazing culinary skills.

BK9 for me. BK2 is a better all-rounder, I think but yeah - BK9. Scares the poop out of coyotes!

Ooh, you'll love the BK5, try Tomar's. Or, if you wanna go elite, go BK10. If, of course Ka-Bar still has any.
