I would have to agree with Ethan saying that the whole loincloth deal is a little disturbing...lol..I would personally take a Bk-9...just one though.....my wife caught me posing with one in each hand.(like a he-man type barbarian warrior..I felt like the most powerful being on the planet....but then embarrassment set in when I was caught.

Of the ones I have right now, I would take the BK9 as well. Love the extra blade real estate that it offers. I don't feel like it would let me down, and in this case, I wouldn't have anything else to carry, so why worry about the slightly extra weight . Plus the sheath has some storage space on it unlike the 2's, and loincloths don't have pockets...
I think I might like the 7 though. Other than the tweeners, I think that this is my next becker. I only say the 7 though because I have a USMC and I really think that it is a great size for basic outdoor use. The BK7 can only be an improvement of the USMC.
Same thing goes for the BK12 (Ritter MK2), I love the design, and the size, but because of the price doubt that I'll be getting one anytime soon.
The one I've known longer, and better, than all my others. I've had it so long and have so much experience with it, it's almost like a daughter to me: BK-5.
I know what you mean. The mk2 is an awesome blade....but sheesh..the price. I want a bk 10 but the price is deadly on the wallet and I have other gear to get to go on an expedition this spring. Hopefully it will be a success...then I can then get the mk2 and the 10...damn I lust for both of those sooo bad!
The 10 really is really not that much more than a 2 with micarta. The 2 is a tank, the 10 is a sexy tank. Not real sold on the 12 yet, Ah heck who am I kidding, I'll probably have like 10 of them.
I would go with the BK-12 without a doubt.
But if I needed to choose a "real" becker I would go with the BK9 or Machax.
They both chop very well, and I'm sure they do plenty of other stuff.
I might secretly throw a 14 in the sheath pocket though (don't leave the house without it)

Have to go with the 9... with the longer blade, I'd feel much better about having a chopper for wood, and the ability to reach out and touch whatever creepy critters might be out there considering me prey.
Luckily for me when I grab that 9 of mine it'll have a tag-along on the sheath...... like a giant whale swimming with one of those little fish coming along for the ride. Like this:
Not to be a conformist...but I would definitely go with the BK9. Got my BK7 the other day and pondered just such a situation. There were naked ladies in my post apocolyptic daydream that needed to be freed by chopping stuff down with a large blade. Oh yeah I think there was bacon too. The BK9 cut through the bacon like butter.
