I miss the original sandy textured tan coatings. It was the best IMO. A real OD Green instead of jungle is nice too or a camo finish...

I did pick Sage,,,,,, but If I was to pay for a re-finishing it would be Satin , or DoubleCut ,,,,,,,,,If not one of those , I'd mirror it myself. I have a sage NMSFNO and it looks gr8 ,,,, and that coating is tough,,,,,chop away and cleans up with soap an water on a sponge,,,,,does'nt rub off easily. Not stripping this one.The Sage Rocks !!!!

If i were to choose I would go with old version of jungle green camo - for collecting, and sage for a user (old jungle green camo would be too pretty for me to use :D).
Here's old jungle green camo SFNO (my grail knife ).

I love the original Tan, but can they still do Tan ?

The only other coating I like at all is OD, which I think is now called green on the Busse web site.

Satin is my favorite finish of course.

You do have good taste! I agree!!:D:thumbup:

i hate coatings... :

I do agree, to an extent.

For anything other than a large chopper, or anything that may be used in food prep or for everyday delicate work...I agree.

But for a large knife that will see nothing but abuse, I think that the coating makes sense.

Mauve? Fuschia?

Seriously... double cut.

If coated, tan or sage. Those two seem really durable IMO.

The Alabama red clay would look good with certain scales. I've not heard how it holds up.
