When we first met and visited Uncle Bill and his family in Reno the Friday night before the Khonventon officially opened we all had the chance to check out and buy khukuris and different things.
Kinda gettin' a jump on the gun so to speak, i'm not from the Sooner State for nothing.

Anyway, I bought myself one of the H.I. Rings. It was a tad too large for my pinkie and of course a tad too small for my right index finger.
I wrapped a bit of duct tape around it and wore it on my pinkie on different occasions since, but it wasn't that comfortable or stable to wear all the time.

Today I fixed it.
I have a straight smooth piece of monel that's about 5/8" dia. so I placed the ring on it and then proceeded to tap the outside with my Rawhide mallet.
I kept checking it for fit often even though it wasn't changeing to quickly.
I kept tapping the outside with some fairly heavy blows and when it would almost go on my finger dry I went to the sink and used some soap to see if I needed to go some more, you want to go slowly to get a nice custom fit.
Back to the mandrel twice more and the fit was perfect!!!
Then to the buffer and a nice polish.
I have had it on ever since and will wear it a lot more often now.

You can take a small ring to a jeweler and get them to do the same thing for a fee or just do it yourself, it's not hard to do.
Just remember that you need a Rawhide or hardwood mallet, to not scar up or malform the ring, and a round piece of metal a bit smaller, or as much as an 1/8" like mine was.
I believe a piece of hardwood dowel would work as well.
Another thing to be careful with is to not put the face down on another piece of wood or other surface like I did while tapping with the mallet as it flattened the top gold khukuri down around the bottom one a bit.
It didn't hurt it though, still looks nice!
