If.

Of course I like my Beckers, but I'm a knife person. I like lots of different blades. Love my ESEE 6. one of my favorite blades. Actually, it's an older RAT model, but, same thing. Love my T.M.Hunt Yuma, my Aranyik E-nep, Condors, etc. Pretty sure Ethan likes, uses, and is inspired my other manufacturers.

By the way, Ethan, make your tweener handles longer dammit, haha. Only reason I don't own and use a 16.

100% and include the BK-14 (which I have but find the handle just a bit too short. The Izula II, on the other hand, with just a little bit of extra handle length, is perfect.

Ontario, Esee, Kabar, Spyderco, Mora, Condor, LT Wright, Bark River and some customs. If the BK4 didn't exist I would probably pick up a Kershaw Camp 10. I have been meaning to anyway.

I prefer Beckers over most other options but there are other options.

I'd wander the earth in an unassailable funk, gazing at all of the things that needed cut but couldn't be. Maybe I'd pick up a gas station special but probably not. What's the point? Perhaps I could gnaw things a bit. Nah.

It's a bleak, Soviet existence you posit.

I'm strongly on the "value" side of the equation myself.

And as such, I think I likely would have found an ESEE knife review, and then discovered they are too pricey for me, and then looked for other similar knives at lower price points.

Which makes me think I'd mostly be using knives from companies like Ontario, Condor, Tramontina, Mora, Svord, and Kabar (unless kabar also didn't for some reason exist).

I can't believe that I forgot, of all things - KaBar!

Both KaBar and Ontario provide value and perform acceptably for their price point.

Many good choices mentioned here but I still prefer Beckers. :D

Ugh...not a happy thought...

I'd have hung onto my Gerber Prodigy for a while. Might have entertained some of the offerings from Tops, but would have ultimately been deterred by the price. Not sure what I would have found that would be equivalent to my BK2.

ESEE, Shaerks, LT Wright, BHK, Siggma, Jeff White, Cold Steel, and I'll probably catch a raft of crap for this, but I like the Schrade Brian Griffin models a lot too.

Brian has good designs and Schrade stepped up their game for his patterns - nothing wrong with that.
