IG and shadow banning/censoring

Simple Little Life on youtube just posted a video about this earlier today. I don’t have instagram, so that was the first I’d heard about it, and thought it was interesting that this thread popped up at the same time.
 
What I’ve learned, if you in any way express a belief that is contrary to the mainstream media/government, your social media account(s) will be attacked.

No matter what country you are in. These past years have proven the existence of a global government. A global government that, just in the recent past, was ridiculed as “not existing”, a “conspiracy theory”.

And now it’s right in front of everyone’s face, yet so many keep denying it.

You want to know the difference between a conspiracy theory and the national news?

About 6 months to a year.

Sometimes longer. JFK anyone?

It is what it is. And in fact it’s disgusting.

I keep my social media completely non political but I guess knives in general go against the mainstream now.

Saw the video, noticed it in my account for the low likes count, 1/3 than usual, begin to investigate and found this under Settings>Account Status that my account is no longer shown in searches or recommended.

I have a nice organically grown follower count (22k+) and even with that number sales are way slower, luckily my X/Twitter is working great (not sure if I can discuss this here even without mentioning my social network names)

Had this problem in the past every now and then, and the appeal worked every time, this time started mid march and still not resolved.

So far IG hasn't restricted my account, which is also linked to my business Facebook page. Paypal suddenly restricted the amount of money I can withdraw from my account. No reason given, appeal denied. Obviously they are floating the funds and earning interest while I'm pounding sand.

What I have noticed is that IG, Facebook, X have taken over sales and marketing and Paypal pretty much has a monopoly on online payments. This unholy alliance has become all powerful. Forums and printed magazines have lost ground to the point of being - I hate to say it - irrelevant. It costs so much money to attend and sell at a knife show these days, that if you can't do a LOT of sales, you'll loose money. And sales? Who has any money? All I hear from many customers worldwide is "If I just had any money leftover..." And I know the feeling, believe me.

This all means that IG etc. and Paypal can literally dictate their terms. Don't like it? They'll ban your a$$. And they're already using that power to promote their own political and social agendas. Don't like their candidate? Keep your mouth shut. Dare to post info about another candidate you like? Better think twice. I really wonder where all this crap is heading. I fear it's heading to no place good...

Here's what I did about it. I stopped using ig fb and youtube. Fb 4 years ago. Ig 3 years ago and took youtube app off my phone before last Christmas. They are just companies, so when they started behaving in ways that contrasted with my morals, I got rid of them. The same way they are getting rid of you.
 
I have Instagram, idk about its value. My follower count is low. I don't think I ever had a sale from it? I get lots of spam
I'm thinking of starting a twitter/X just because it's perceived to be freer, idk if that's true?

Because of politics, I stopped using PP.
I found M.O. Worked just as well, and are Safer.

Stuart … I think you are just seeing social dynamics ( chaotic) at work rather than some organized (controlled) effort. Personally, I believe that politics and politicians are way too self serving/ incompetent/ unable to coordinate/cooperate with others for any kind of conspiracy to actually work. Take university campuses of late: they appear to have become very intolerant of even moderate perspectives, to the point of shutting down debate and conversation on issues. BUT this is largely driven by the *students* (who are hardly likely to be part of an organized global conspiracy) … and faculty and admin are running scared of “upsetting” the students. This in institutions that are supposed to be about free exploration of ideas? Sheesh. Like I saud, more chaos than anything.

I’ve recently been listening to the Atlanta Rhythm Section (cool group!) song entitled “not gonna let it bother me” and thinking … geeze, in forty odd years … things have not changed much…

Yes, United States Post Office Money Order.
I never used one, until I got involved in the knife community here.....and I found using them is surprisingly easy.

And in my opinion, adds More safety, more penalties for fraud.... And actually help me curb impulsive buying... I've become a more educated consumer.... I highly recommend them, and it's the only way I do it, now

More people Should be talking about them, encouraging their use

I prefer Money Orders after only cash or personal checks. Unfortunately, most people are not patient enough or trust worthy enough for money orders these days.
 
UPDATE: Just in case anyone thinks that deleting the 5 posts they show you as flagged solves the problem, it doesn't, IG shows you five more flagged. It seems they think removing all posts related to knives on a knifemaker profile is the solution... :rolleyes:

MO are greeat right up to the point that your local PO doent have the cash on hand to pay them out. had this happen more then once had to drive to the next town over and wait till end of day and hope they could pulll the funds to pay out. if not they pay out what they can and then charge you for a MO that is the ballance. then you can try again another day to get the rest

The Easiest thing to do is just cash them out at Your bank.
 
IG makes money on ads, not knives, so, who are they going to listen to?
Free sites for knifemakers will soon be a thing of the past.

Well I see ads of local knifemakers for their products, so the policy is not that strict if you hand out some $$$...
