I have,as many of you have, donated to Nepal and Tibet.
I received a letter from Chogyal Namkhi Norbu.
He states," The Dzogchen teachings are neither a philosophy, nor a religious doctrine... Understanding the message of the teachings means discovering one`s own true condition."
I believe the last statment. I do not believe the first two, in my understanding of Bhuddhism. Actually my interest is in the Zen branch.
Bhudhism is not a religion in it`s pure form. However, it has been prostituted into one.( This will get me kicked off the forum.)
It is a philosophy. The master is wrong and the emperor wears no clothes. More importantly, it is a way to be aware of the present. To grasp the moment.
In Zen, it is a way to savor, focus on it, a moment without forgeting that there is a dangerous world out there.
I rekon I`m still obtuse.
Thanks for your time. I do not feel like doing much better for those who will not understand.
