IKEA Hobo Stove and Becker Break-Ins

I'll post photos of mine later. I actually forgot about it, until this thread.
I made this about a year ago, and didn't ever quite finish it the way I wanted, but here's the photos of what I did complete. Have never used it, obviously:

Complete kit:

Out of bag:

I have a computer fan cover on the bottom:

Ash pan, and legs in the Stanley:

Everything:

Legs attached:

Tent stakes inserted. I bent them slightly, to help them from sliding out:

If you were to build a fire in it, you would do so, and put the cook set in place:

Or, if using an alcohol burner, place the alcohol burner on the tent stakes, and put the fan cover on top:

Then the cook set on top of that:

With the windscreen, and ash pan. The holes I made on the legs, are for the windscreen to go through:

The only thing I had left to do, was to make a slotted cover, so to speak, to put on the tent stakes, so I could also use trioxane, if needed.

BTW, this is NOT my idea. I got it from here, from PeteB. All credit goes to him: http://bushcraftusa.com/forum/showt...a-Hobo-stove?p=1580056&viewfull=1#post1580056

Also, lots of good ideas in this thread at BCUK: http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33879&

Some great ideas, there. However, the older I get, the simpler I like it - alcohol stove and a 3 rock platform. :D

BTW, where do you get those Stanley pots? And are they aluminum or stainless? It looks aluminum in the pictures.

They're stainless. Target is where I got mine at, but since I hate that place, I would now get it at Wally.

Doc, Target now carries the pot shown above and a larger Stanley pot as well.

Thanks Guyon. The only problem is, that while they carry it in Target in the USA, they may not up here. That's the case with a lot of items. I'll have to check it out. That little pot looks like a good piece of gear, tall rather than wide.

Thanks Warrior. I'll have to check if Target or Wally stocks them up here in Canada.

Doc

Hey Doc, wanna post if/where you find it? I've been checking both the Wally Worlds and Targets around here (ever since I saw them on this thread) but neither stock them (yet). I'm hoping they'll get them in when they stock up their camping section for spring/summer. Damn Canadian box stores...

Can you guys do "site to store" from the web? Might be easier than drivin' all over Helen's back to find one. Plus, no shipping cost and local pickup.....

Hey Aikiguy, I went to WalMart today - nothing, same with Target. Target in Canada does not seem to be the same store it is in the USA. I think you're probably right that if they become available it will be when they start stocking up the camping sections.

That's a good point, however, there doesn't seem to be a search function on Target.ca and nothing showed up on the WalMart site.

Doc, it looks like Cabela's in Canada carries it. Search for "Stanley Adventure Series Camp Cook Set" and "Canada". On my search list, it's the fifth link down the page. More expensive though.

Thanks Guyon. I didn't even know we had a Cabela's in Canada. It is a bit pricey especially when you add shipping. Might wait until the Barrie store opens. I pass by Barrie everytime I head north. Nice looking little pot.

Dubz, you put fire inside them, like this:
