3/16" thick O-1 steel. Mystery wood, Hidden tang handle, 4 5/8" blade, 9 3/8" overall.

Looks good, hard to tell in the photos, but it looks like the gaurd is leaned back? Probably an opticl illusion. I like the handle shape, looks like it'd fit the hand good.

Oh that knife is horrible! Just a mess, I would be ashamed o show such trash.

Just joking, that looks amazing! I wish I could do work like that..... There is no way that is your first knife.

It's too shiny :D Love it, very nice and clean. Beautiful combination of the brass and wood.

looks good, nice filework, looks like good fit and finish, the top photo makes the tip look a bit blobby, and it makes it look like there is a slight ridge between the handle/spacer and the guard, but those are probably a result of the photo not the knife.

Looks good to me. It's always been tough to critique a knife without obvious flaws, (which I see none) because you never know if the maker intended to make it look like that or not.

Overall, I think it's beautiful, and looks like great craftmanship.

I like the look of the handle by itself. I like the look of the blade, by itself.
IMHO, there is a disconnect between the two.
The plunge cut on the blade leans, far forward, where the line of the guard leans back. To me, these are the lines that need to be radial for the knife to have an overall flow. This area lends itself to using a t-bevel and or a square to do the lay out. The end result is a knife with uninterrupted flow from end to end.

It looks great, especially the handle contours, but I don't think the leaned guard is a good idea. It's part of the handle not the blade, so that's where I think it should align.

I can't see anything to criticize about the construction, from my PERSONAL design philosophies here's my 2 cents for whatever it's worth:

I tend to make my knives with the guard/leading edge of the handle material somewhat following the plunge cut, I feel it makes it flow a little better visually.

With a hunting/field style knife (not a camp knife) I prefer the top of the guard to be flush with the spine of the blade because I tend to choke up on the blade or place my index finger along the spine for detail work. You can make a small cut with a big knife but not a big cut with a small knife, the small cuts require you to be able to place the knife in positions of better control.

I include a thong hole in any using knife. It's a safety issue for larger knives that may be swung with a lot of force.

Like I said, no comments on construction, it looks great. To repeat, the criticisms are only from my personal design philosophies.

Great job!!

I am a bit of a photo shop nut. I photo shopped your knife to have a 90 degree guard. I tried to send you an email. If you would like me to send you the comparison image send me an email at rellery@iinet.net.au.

I like your knife everything else is fine. The guard is I think a symptom of what we get used to. Most people are used to the guard being 90 degrees or slightly forward at the top. It is not wrong it is how you wanted it to look and you have done a fine job of making it look that way. The file work is also very good and proportions blade to handle look right to me.
Nice job.

Actually the knife itself is unique. It is different and that's what makes it one-of-a-kind. Looks clean and nicely handcrafted. Thanks for showing your abilities.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Overall I'm happy with the way this knife came out. I like my leaning guard and and I usually like subtle purge lines, and little choil. But I have been staring at this for a few days and there was just some small thing bugging me. Then Fred Rowe hit it on the head I have a few angles that are colliding I'm fixing to do a another like this one but with a clip point so I'll see if I can fix The angles to be more harmonious. Everyones comments are greatly appreciated.

Mike I hve sent the photo shop version. If it did not attach or no mesage at all came through send meanother email ad I will resend under another format.

If you have any other slight changes you wuld like to look at without spending hours at the bench Take another image showing it plat on and describe what you want I will try to do a couple of photo shop versions.

Only thing I will not make a promis as to how quick I can get to it normally I am quick just at the moment I may have a few things comming along. If I can't do it straight away I let you know so your not hanging.

Again good knife.
