Just received a Paramilitaty, black G-10, plain edge, satin, S30V. It's my first Spyderco folder. I always thought a thumb stud was the best way to deploy a blade, but man, this thing opens lightening quick with the flick of the thumb, locks up solid. It has a nice, substantial feel while not being too heavy. Razor sharp from the box. This is my new EDC. This could be the beginning of a new addiction.

Welcome to the world of Spyderco, Excranium! I can pretty much assure you that your purchase will be the first of many. ;)

I'm scanning the house now, looking for things to sell on Ebay, I need to have this knife in green with D-2.

Got mine and was astonished just how much I like it. Man that d2 cuts- its like a sturdy razor. Probably my smoothest folder too. Go for it!

I LOVE my Para Military. Like you said, it's rock-solid, sharp, feels great...
I love mine so much that I don't EDC it. :( Why? I'm afraid to have it get lost or worn or whatever, so I will try to eventually get another one to keep one as a backup and make a user out of one.

I used my Dremel grinder to put a small choil at the base of the blade. It makes sharpening easier, since there's a space where the corner edge of the sharpening stone doesn't hit that tight, tiny curve by the tang.

Lol. I LOVE my paramillie toooo. It has made me really like spyderco, though at the same time has made me a little bitter towards the FRN handled ones. Though I do love my Endura 4 too, though not as much. The paramillie is such a nice EDC. Lightweight, sturdy, sharp as hello and still fairly small. Wouldn't mind something a bit bigger, though the military model's handle is HUGE. In any case congrats on getting an amazing knife.

Having started with the Para, you're probably doomed.

Don't hesitate to get a Manix if you think you'd like it. Those probably won't be available again for a long time, if ever.
