I'm a fake but I've acheived that magical 1/4 oz per inch light and fast holy grail.

Actually that's military stock stain with a hint of red I used on the handle. It is alcohol based but I've had enough of that for a spell.

Where's Scara at. He needs to comment here since it's his training khuk. Last night I drilled a bunch of holes cross ways through the blade and added a bunch more lead. It's starting to bulk up, still far from overall weight.

That WWII was my very first Khuk, gifted by a good friend who also pointed me at HI. Might say the blade that started it all.

I didnt know ya read either?? Your a man of many talents!!

This had me literally rolling on the floor! LOL!

Right here Bawanna. Just been without internet for the past few days while I visited family for Thanksgiving. I just pray I don't fall back into my habit of wasting all my time on the internet.

But back to the Wooden II, it looks good. I like what I see, especially that kami mark of yours. Took a while to stop laughing when I saw that one. And no ninja moves here, not even gurkha moves. Good work so far. I look forward to having it in hand.

Well I don't think I'm gonna get anywhere near comparable overall weight, just not enough room for lead. I do have comparable balance, a bit front heavy, matching balance point at least on my WWII.

Gonna do some more cosmetic enhancement and it will be ready to go home.

And it doesn't really need to weigh the same, just have a similar balance. Thanks for doing this Bawanna. Can't wait to have the finished product.

Wow Bawanna... I cant believe I missed this thread. Great job on the wooden kukri, I would of LOVED to get something like that as a child to play Knights and Dragons, or Gurkha's and Dragons, or something like that lol.
Your skills are impressive young skywalker...;)

Steel khukuris cut down wood...wooden khukuris cut down...paper?...

Paper khukuris cut down...

My head hurts :barf:

Or you could play Rock-Khukuri-Hexane. It's loud but it get's the party moving

About twenty meters straight up

I recall in a college science class there was a day where the professor brought in balloons filled with different flammable gases. If memory serves, they were butane, hexane and octane. That was a whole lot of fun to watch. I still remember the way the butane created a fireball that rose in the air, the hexane (or was it pentane?) created a floating fireball, and the octane created a fireball that actually sank quickly in the air.

inhabitants of the pacific oceania have been using deadly wooden sword-clubs for ages (no metal or stone to speak of). the time of the tactical wood khukuri club is at hand. nice.

sadly, would not stop the po-leece here from shooting you if you scared the sheeple. they recently tased an elderly blind man for 'resisting arrest' after he refused to put down his sword. (it was a white cane) he was walking away from them and had of course thought they were talking to someone else.

an autistic man carrying a tble leg in a plastic bag from a DIY store was actually shot & killed because he was carrying a replacement table leg back from the store. he apparently refused to 'put the gun down' and turned to see what they were talking about & they shot him.

you'd be shot for carrying an offensive weapon for the steel or the wooden one. and probably tased for refusing to 'step off your vehicle and get down on your knees wth your hands behind your head'. or shot if you try to fool them with talk of some ficticious medical condition. they are medical experts. they took a 4 hour first aid course once. tho perfectly legal on your own property, the gentlemen of the law would not be gentle if you go scaring the sheeple like that.

and statisticians wonder why it takes the average grunt nowadays thousands of rounds per enemy killed more each decade and still rising. the skills to actually use good tools in the shop, in the field, hunting, or on a battlefield just ain't taught anymore. they're not PC. nice library by the way. love the sharps.

Me too. I reckon we get bawanna to make a whole batch and then send us back in time (because he's a wizard) so we can give them to our younger selves, thus fueling our love for khuks earlier. :D

now you need to make the matching scabbard and the karda/chakmak.

p.s. - it is not a fake, it is real wood.

if you proceed and paint the blade silver and try to sell it as a razor sharp HI khukuri hand forged in the himalayas, it might be considered a fake.

is a knife/sword/axe made in a forge a forgery? is someone who makes it a forger? if an indian holy man is a faker is he a fake fakir? if a kami is also a fakir is a khukuri made by him a faker's forgery?

i'm so konfused! will someone please shoot me. with a fake fakir's forged forgery wooden mousket. (unloaded of course, per OSHA)

I actually sent it off rather raw. One of the criteria was something that wouldn't alarm neighbors or passersby if he's out swinging it.

I stained the handle but then did a bit more slimming and shaping and then decided that it might be best for Scara to custom fit the handle. I left it on the slightly large side not knowing hand size etc.

It's soft wood so it can easily be filed down if needed. It wasn't pretty but it did feel like a light khukri with the weight forward.

I plan to look around for some of that tupperware cutting board JW mentioned. We have a perfect piece in the kitchen but the wife in no uncertain terms let it be know that it was NOT being modified into a toy knife.

Oh well.

I'm hoping it arrives today, but it seems the only person who can get the post office moving is Auntie, so I have my doubts.

Huh? It's here... that's it. No by your leave, it's nice, it's garbage, just it's here?

I'm feeling a little out of the loop here.

Did you dig the first cabin Leupold Scope box? Don't tell my son, didn't figure he needed the box, and he's got two.
