I'm a fixed blade guy,but I wanna know why Spyderco, Emerson, and ZT are so popular??

The way I see it:
Spyderco is popular because they use lots of steels, make lots of strint runs, communicate with their customers, use the round hole, and they generally use good edge geometry.
Emerson is popular because of their designs, the wave, and becuase of their association with the military and LEOs.
ZT is popular because they're tough and have a good warranty.

Lots of us can't legally carry fixed blades where we live, and some are not allowed to carry fixed blades at work due to company policies. In those cases, a folding knife is a nice alternative, and those manufacturers make tools that we can rely upon. Some of the folding knives from those companies are nearly as strong as a fixed blade, and they'll all handle just about any cutting needs we'll encounter in our day-to-day routines.

Buy one and find out. Other than the Commander, I'm not much of an Emerson fan. Not that there is anything wrong with them, they're just not for me. As far as Spyderco, I am a fan of some of their knives, others look redundant to me, but they have always taken care of me.

As far as Zero Tolerance, if Gibbs carries a 302, then YOU need to get one too ;).

(I have a 301...)

And Thomas W is good people.

TRU DAT' SilentHunter...Gibbs is the man, and anything he uses will kick a$$. LOL I'm a huge NCIS fan, though I don't really like the tiger stripe pattern w/the tan/orangeish handle that he had in the show, otherwise that is a very good looking knife, and looks like it will take one hell of a beating. I do like the 0551 and 0200st too. I'm finding myself more and more drawn to the DPx HEST folder, it looks so sweet and has gotten several great reviews. Any info out there??...

Search for that knife within the forums, use the link in my sig for the search bar. I wouldn't spend my hard earned cash on that...

I can pop a folder into the vest pocket of a 3 piece, but it is harder to do with a BK-9. As for Spyderco, Emerson and ZT, you will understand when they are 'in hand'.
