I'm a little confused about the DOTD, can anyone help me out?

You can order a blade through the website with as many specifications as you desire (size, type of handle, etc.), realizing of course that the more specific you get, the longer the potential wait if Yangdu does not have one in stock. I suggest emailing Yangdu to see if she has anything close to your specs. She will do everything she can to make it work.

That's what I did.
I wanted a British Army Service w/ wood handle.. and Yangdu had one lying around! ..sold to me at pretty near Dotd pricing too : o )

he'll figure it out anyway, i'm spillin the beans. everyone's got a favorite 'not in production' model. they're things that only show up here like the foxy folly, sgian dubh, chitlangi bowie, cherokee rose, kerambit (what do we call it now, chirrabit?), munk bowie, the r-knives, bdc, crow knife, d-1, rediculously oversized versions of the regular models, and a ton of other stuff i've not mentioned. then you have the exotic woods, antler horns, engravings, etchings, and the occaisional one of a kind, like a slipjoint.
beyond that, it's just one of the better forums.
