Perhaps I was too honorable. But why should I have to sell or trade a NIB knife that is exactly the way I received it, as LNIB which is a slight step down in value?
I'm not sure what I was really guilty of except 100% honesty . . .
Honestly, because many buyers of this knife are probably collectors, the first thing that crossed my mind when I decided to trade the knife was whether I can get back what I paid for it. I know that is probably frivolous paranoia but it crossed my mind. I had resolved myself to probably trading it off or selling it as a user versus collectable which is perfectly legitimate since it is a VERY good knife.
Anyway, I pulled the for trade thread so this is moot anyway. I was just expressing some surprise considering so many of the extremely satisfied owners seemed to shrug off the less satisfied owners with the caveat that they could sell theirs for a profit.
I spent some time on the sofa with this knife while watching my Giants spank the Rangers last night and I've decided to keep it.
Thanks for everyones comments though.

Reek, it seems to me as honorable as your intentions were with the original "for trade" post that in being so overly descriptive about such relatively minor concerns that it resulted in a "making mountains out of mole hills" effect.
On first impressions of that post I would have put you in the "high maintenance" or "too hard / too much work" basket.
A simple "LNIB" and sort out the nitty gritty details in PM's or email would have sufficed.
