how thin should i take the edge on 52100 before i heat treat it? right now the spine is about 7/32 in. thick and the edge is about 1mm or a little less. should i take it down more or just leave it? im worried about decarb. also what grit should i stop at pre ht on the flats?

1mm is a bit thick. About 1/2mm is more like it. For you metrically challenged folks, that would be about .020"
